  1. Any word dude? Got twopotential buyers here...

I didn't realize that he was out of town on a snowmobile trip so I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet. I should be able to get in touch with him today and let you know. Initially he told me that he only wanted to keep 2 of the drills so I think he was going to try to sell 3 of them.

  2. oooooh ahhhh, i just want the gen 2 drill, don't need the impact, although i don't need the drill either but i want it lol

Jimbo, My brother in-law bought 5 kits last month. He got them for $315 each plus a free bare fuel tool. He didn't need the drills but he wanted the impacts and batteries so the deal was too good to pass up. If all you need is the bare Drill I know he would be willing to sell one.

  3. I bought the Milwaukee set.

    Do.not.buy.

That are pretty crappy for what you pay. The cheapo set I got in a free Makita bit kit are better.

The Milwaukee set is very poorly made, the set bearing gets stuck, the 1/2 is bent right from the start. Same thing happened when I bought the 4" shockwave Robertson bit, it was warped right out of the package.

I think the Milwaukee bits are a crapshoot. I hear a lot of bad things about them but I have the 3/8 and 1/2 and haven't had any issues with them at all. It just depends on the batch you get. I like them because they are shorter than a lot of the other options. Most hex bits are loose to begin with, so when you extend that out on a longer bit and then put a heavy impact socket on the end any wobble really gets exaggerated.

  4. Not sure if anyone needs a new knife but this is a great deal I found at hartville hardware. These are currently $35 at home depot. I used this picture I took at home depot to get a meet and beat. Can't go wrong, great knife.

I have the regular red one and I love it.

  5. Thanks everyone!   I got pretty sick of dealing with the local store reps and managers so maybe before I dump this in Milwaukee's lap I'll try corporate.

Completely off topic, but is that an 87 Cutlass in your profile pic? That was my first car and the one I will always regret selling.

  6. This won't apply to everyone, but if you live near SE Wisconsin there are some great deals to be had this week. We have a local Hardware store in Menomonee Falls called Neu's Hardware. They are having their "Tool Days" sale this week and there are some great deals. http://www.neushardware.com/event/neus-tool-day-december-4-2015/

My Brother-in-law wanted to switch one of his work trucks over from Makita to Milwaukee so I have been helping watch out for deals since the summer and this one came up. What makes it even better is that Home Depot matched it + 10% off. He purchase 5 of the Gen2 Fuels kits and got 2 Fuel Sawzalls, 2 Fuel Grinders, and the 71/4" Circular saw for free. Regular price for his purchase would have been $2890 but with the match of the deal at Neu's he got everything for $1570, about 55% of off.

  7. MILWAUKEE is great with service issues. Unfortunately the replacement drawers aren't packaged as well as the chests. I had a guy from Milwaukee bring 3 drawers to my house and they were all bent, we had to straighten and bend the slides just to get it in. Email their customer service and they will take care if you. If they can't fix the issues I'm sure they would compensate you in some other way.

  8. They spread the discount over the 2 items you buy.........when I return the drill combo it will not effect the discount on the miter saw.

And if you plan on using a coupon.....you want to make sure that they apply the discount on the tool you plan on keeping. Then have them ring up the second tool which signals the additional $150 discount.

So basically you wind up saving $75 off of the second tool you bought?

  9. I really like the Milwaukee box, but if I got the cash to buy a toolbox I think I would pick the Husky 52" It's a 100 bucks cheaper and bigger. It should last my lifetime I don't abuse things too bad :)

I looked at the Husky too but ultimately bought the Milwaukee Box. Although they look very similar the Milwaukee box seemed a lot more solid. The Caster supports are much thicker, the soft close drawers are really nice, the Milwaukee lid has a handle, and I really like the integrated power strips. I have 2 Milwuakee charges on the side of the box and 2 Ryobi 40v chargers in the lid, it's nice to have everything in one place and charging at the flip of a switch.

  10. I would say the Fuel 2 is the way to go. You get the bigger 5.0 batteries for the power and longevity when you need it and you can always pick up a 2.0 cheap for when you want something compact and down't need a ton of power. I just got brand new 2.0 batteries for under $44 on Amazon.

  11. I took apart a whole bunch of drives this week and it seems like the magnet size increases with drive size. I mostly used drive under 500GB but I did do 1 1TB drive and the magnets were extremely strong. The brackets were also reinforced to the point that I couldn't bend them behind the magnet. I have a couple of 2TB drives that I would be curious to see what's in side but they aren't quite old enough yet.

  12. From I've used of the rigid impact it's great with moderate use. If you use for an extended period of heavy use it can get quite hot, to the point it's hard to hold. Just a matter of your intentions. If it's something to use around the house it's great, for work use it may not be enough in certain trades. The prices are great with Ridged and you still get a lot of options for expansion into other tools.
