[Makita impact drivers - difference]

so the set I bought has a newer looking drill, with a power indicator on the drill (not just the batter) and the newer LED light, but the impact driver is the older style.

 

Weird.

Too bad they dont include the newer  XDT09Z driver

Hi,

 

Yesterday I bought the Makita brushless 4.0ah drill and impact driver set at the Home Depot.

The impact driver it comes with is a XDT08Z

 

But then later, I noticed you can get the XDT042 separately.

It only has a 3.0 battery, but all the same specs as the XDT08Z ... Except it looks more modern with a better light and a transparent part by the chuck.

 

So now I am confused. Is the impact driver in my set an old model?

Should I wait and buy the set later
