Have you tried a better blade?

My 6 1/2 inch cordless circular saw it as well with a 40 tooth blade.

My current 12 volt Milwaukee has the 5 3/8 36 tooth blade from Diablo. I have been using it for a little while, so I could swap it out to see if my results are better.  I do like this saw especially for the size and weight, just saw this clearance deal from Lowes and got me thinking about upgrading to it.

  2. Hello Everyone

I am looking at getting an 18 volt circular saw. I am interested in either Milwaukee or Hitachi as I have batteries for both of their 18 volt platforms.  I currently own the M12 fuel circular saw, but I am bogging it down cutting through 3/4 plywood.  It gets the job done, but you have to go very slow.  My current battery situation for Milwaukee is 2 5.0 and 2 2.0, while for Hitachi I have 2 3.0 compact.

The saws main job would be ripping plywood and mdf down, before it goes to the table saw.  I am currently working on making kitchen cabinets, and counter tops for them.  Future plans for the house will include some more projects that will involve ripping plywood.

Lowes has clearance the 6-1/2 Hitachi brushless cordless circular saw (C18DBALP4) down to $99.00 from $199.  The saw looks like it will meet my needs for my projects.  Does anyone have any experience with this saw?  Also, have you used it with the 3.0 compact batteries?  I don't want to buy a bigger battery in Hitachi as the only tools I am running from Hitachi are the cordless brad and pin nailer.

Thank you for the feed back.

  3. I am currently running a 23000 BTU kerosene heater and a 9000 BTU Mr Heater buddy heater.  I have a similar sized garage that is insulated. I live in Wisconsin.  This set up does ok, but you still need to warm your hands up every once in a while.  These heaters are rated for indoor safety.  I also have a forced air propane heater that is 60,000 BTUs that is not indoor safe and does need venting.  I think you will need more BTUs than 12000 to heat that size of space

  4. My first time posting, but I keep coming to this forum for the wealth of information on here. I have the M12 fuel impact and just bought the Surge this week.  I was also curious which had more power so I did a quick test driving 1/4 x 3 1/2 Spax Powerlags into a 4x4. The Surge was easily twice as fast. I am heavy into the M12 line but wanted the Surge for the noise reduction.
