Milwaukee M12BLP planer dial not aligne correctly

My Milwaukee M12BLP planer dial (form 0.0-2.0) needs to be at 0.5 before the front/read shoes are aligned/flat.

If it's 0.0-0.5 then the front shoe is below the rear and it won't plane.

It would appear that I should be able to pull the front adjusting knob off, rotate it 90 degrees, realign it on the splines and 0.0 will be correct.

However, I'm removed the centre disc and small screw, but that knob won't pull off. Attached is the service pdf.

Any ideas please?
