neuther
I have a Dewalt DC987. I droped it and cracked the "SPINDLE HOUSING ASSY"I bought the part to replace it but i can't figure out how to get the "KEYLESS CHUCK" and the rest of the part's off to get to the spindle housing. I took out the reverse thread bolt out of the chuck but now i'm at a loos for what to do next. I want to keep everything but the spindle housing but i can't figure out how to take it apart enough to get to it.http://www.ereplacementparts.com/images ... Odie de Moura
Here is an article that will help you get that chuck removed...http://forums.ereplacementparts.com/pow ... chuck.htmlAfter removing the chuck you might have a better idea on how to take the gear case assembly apart. I have been told getting all that back together can be a nightmare, so you might be better off buying the whole gear case assembly.I hope this information was somewhat helpful.
