  1. People who are saying "I'm still waiting on a 20v brushless recip and circ saw"... The new 60v recip and circ are brushless and while they run on the 60v battery, you can still use those 60v batteries in your other 20v tools. So the only down fall is you have to buy new batteries when you get these new brushless saws. But those batteries will work in your other tools. So there really isn't a big problem in my opinion. The 60v batteries are retailing for $10 more than the 5.0 20v batteries, so you can almost consider these new saws part of your 20v system (almost). You also get a lot more power than the Fuel.

  2. I don't know if a retailer requested specifically requested Dewalt make the DCD771, or Dewalt knew that stores want to sell a drill kit for around 100 dollars for the holiday season. Milwaukee sells a bushed model its the same model of brushed tool they offer for sale, but they only include one battery at that cheap price.

You hit it on the head with the $100 dollar idea.

  3. Dewalt does not change anything about a tool to hit a lower price point. They will sell a different tool (DCD771 for example) that may not be as powerful as the DCD780 and may come with different batteries and a charger that doesn't charge as fast, in order to hit a lower price point. But you won't find a cheaper/more robust version of the same model number tool.

  4. I would like one of those totes for my cordless collections my current tote can't hold my daily use cordless tools and batteries.

    Where did you get this?

Anyone have a link to where I can find one of these?

    Google Search:

I saw one US online retailer that is stocking them. They just started shipping out.

  5. I currently have the Makita small handheld blower. I am seriously eyeing the DeWalt if it is any better as 90% of my tools/batteries are DeWalt. The blowers appear to be nearly identical though.

The small blower is pretty identical to the Makita and Milwaukee... If you need something more powerful the 20v DCBL720P1 has 4X the power at 400 CFM.

  6. Here's my one in action coring 127mm holes into the deck

Will have to look at a Tstack for the hose and cable as its a pain in the arse being lose

In case you didn't know, Dewalt makes a dust collection unit like that. http://www.dewalt.com/tools/hammerdrills--hammers-dust-extraction-systems-dwh050k.aspx

It even has a suction cup (utilizing suction from the vac) so it will stick to a vertical wall.

  7. How quickly does it stop when you release the trigger?  If it feels like a braking grinder, grinding down whatever it's catching on and/or greasing the bearings should do the trick.

If you've ever hit the wheel lock on a grinder right after shutting it off, you'll notice the nut loosens and sometimes files off along with the wheel.  This is the principle for some tool free grinders because it loosens the nut, but those have a notch in the nut and spindle so it doesn't spin all the way off, just loosens.  I'm guessing the brake on the new milwaukee grinder is part of the reason it can use the tool-free nut, because if you've ever tried to remove a grinding wheel that's been worn down without changing you know that little twist handle won't cut it.  Slowing quickly isn't so much of a problem if it is smooth, but if the spindle or motor or anything is catching somewhere it acts sort of like an impact driver to loosen the nut.

That was a lot more rambling than I expected.

tldr: Slowing down reverses the force of speeding up and can loosen the nut instead of tightening it.

I've had this problem before on one of our grinders. The spindle lock was malfunctioning and was catching the arbor as it slowed down. This caused the nut to loosen up. Listen to the tool as it slows down and see if you hear any scraping or other noises.
