I have to check my main supply but I want to run 100 amp sub. I don't think I'll use the whole 100 but might as well plan for the future.
I’ll be more active on this thread in about a week. Right now I need to learn some math, finals this week.
As long as your wire from main to sub isnt longer then 30ft the 4ga wire should be plenty for 100amp ..itd hold up more amps but 100 is where youd want circuit to trip..even in garage 100 amps is lot of current

Yeah, right now in Florida is not a bad time to paint, not to hot, not to cold.
Yup until tuesday and it hits 50 lmao
-
No problem. If you need help with air tools feel free to ask
Thanks..ive used impact wrenches/air chisels before with my firefighting times but we always used our air bottles and change em out when empty
-
Im glad i stumbled onto Tools In Action..thanks for all tje awesome tips and ideas. I didnt wanna buy a compressor and be unhappy with it...be an expensive paperweight
-
Id say 99% of the time it will be staying at my house
-
You could also check craigslist for a good used one for cheap.[/quote
Yea conductor mentioned that as well, ill probably see whats in the area tomorrow,,and im gonna ask around work
-
I would get the craftsman because with the smaller pancake compressor it will have to cycle after about one or two lug nuts.
Good point because thatd be a litttle annoying..id be okay if it filled between tires but after two nuts would be really annoying
-
lmao. Colder than a witches tit in a brass bra huh?
Really sucks in florida..low of 55 tonight
-
threeve, chase, dr99, conductor....thank you all for the advice and help. Sounds like for painting the house which id hopefully be doing only once while we are here id be better off possibly renting a big.compressor or unless i find used one od course.
Thank you all again for your time and responses!

Yeah go into sears and check them out. Im up towards Daytona Beach. And thanks for your service! Yeah it takes a special breed.

No problem and thanks, its a childhood dream haha.
Edit:Just noticed you are in florida where abouts are you?
And craftsman is quality name..i maybe stopping at sears this weekend ! South central on east side..about hour south of orlando..
I did my firefigting with dept of defense in ky/tn ..alabama..and a tour overseas , its definately a job you have to have a passion for
-
Here is a real nice craftsman...33 gallon 165 psi $285 +tax...I will have to check on the paint situation
Thanks chase, didnt think to look at sears..thats a nice look compressor for the price! ..btw stay safe (i was firefighter for almost 5 years but due to lung issues had to atop)
-
How much painting will you be doing? That requires a lot of cfm. The rest can be supported with a decent 20 gallon compressor.
My biggest painting project is my entire exterior of house..and hopefully wood fencd one day

So thanks to everyones advice i was able to find one on craigslist. Older guy who use to do some auto and wood work in his garage was selling his 30 gal husky compressor. Its got 5 hp. Hes used it to for everything i would minus painting a house, hes done small paint jobs. Its from 07 but hes kept good care of it. Plus i got it for 150:) so i got 150 to spend on tools for it
