Got this little beauty in the mail this past Saturday 2/11. I first want to thank @toolsinaction Dan and Eric and the TIA community as well as @milwaukeetool for this great gift. This is an unreal surprise for me this is my first job site speaker/radio and I have great plans for it. ???? #tiacrew.

  2. An unbelievably Series and an equally unbelievable game 7. You could not ask for a better movie script. Or was it? Go Cubs [emoji1306][emoji1306]

  3. Ok I am partners with Tool Barn and they sent me three impact wrenched to test out and review. I got the makita brushless, the Milwaukee brushless and the dewalt brushless. All 1/2 impacts. They sent me the wrong dewalt so I don't know about it yet but here are my thoughts. The makitas grip is the best. The Milwaukee definitely has more power and feels like it has more power. The makita does have three modes and the Milwaukee only has two. I don't like that you can't feather the makita like you can on the Milwaukee.

Way to go Nick! I'm very interested in the Makita and how it preforms against the other contenders. Looking forward to seeing what type of head to head test you come up with lol.

  5. d3eee2ab7f957c6701e29185b32dcadb.jpg Pretty nice deals to be had. They had their Metabo section tucked away in the back. I don't really feel like they gave them a chance. Needless to say there is one less miter saw now! I'll post pics when I get home an open it up.

  6. I'd have wished for that to be my problem when I did this instead.

On a ladder leaning full force into the impact drill, screw rolled to the left when I was supporting my material with my left hand, full speed into my finger with my body weight behind it. Pierced my fingernail and took a chunk out of my thumb bone, doc said it kept me from going straight through my finger... and because of the shape of the bit my nail closed around the shank so I couldn't get it out and had to go to the hospital. Only good thing about it was it perfectly sealed the hole so no blood...bad news the pressure was extreme.

2 hours later, 3 broken pairs of forceps, and one pissed off white boy later, I was done. The relief of the pressure was almost worth the numbing injections, which hurt a lot more than the damn bit did going in. That shit is NO JOKE. After the second injection (re: rolling the needle sideways and wallering it all around like you would with a 1/2in drill bit to make a 1in hole) he grabbed the third injection and I told him if he put it in I was going to punch him in the mouth, stop torturing me and just get it out already. The bloody picture was after they got it stopped for the most part, blood was spraying all over the office, looked like a scene out of "The Patriot" in there from that little tiny hole...and then I was in heaven, sweet relief.

Fingernail still doesn't grow right. Get sharp pains in the joint from time to time.

Hay Hugh, same exact same spot for me too. Was driving 3" screws into knotty pine with an air drill at high speed, and as luck would have it, hit a knot. Screw stopped dead! and the drill slipped and right through my thumb and stuck in the pine lol. Yeah, so no big deal, pulled it out screamed a few expletives and went to the emergency room. X-rays showed no break in the bone but many small metal fragments in the wound. The cleaned me up as much as possible and sent me on my way. Yes the nail does not grow right on that side of my thumb either. Switched to cordless impacts lol and keep my hand out of the way. Lol.

  7. Yes Ridgid would be another excellent choice, not sure if their chargers are fast charging. Not that would be on your radar. But you can find deals on their batteries at Home Depot, they have frequent sales.

  8. First, Welcome to the forum! I have recently purchased the Milwaukee fan for the same reason and since it's also comes with an AC adapter for the shop! I've been testing it the last few days and I can tell you that it's a good fan, and Milwaukee's stats are right on. 17+ hours on low with a 5.0 ah fully charged battery. After that, time drops quick. 7+ hours on medium and 4+ hours on high. Having this battery line and a multi quick charger for me batteries are not an issue. If power is out! Then it's an issue on charging. I am tempted to see if I can push the fan to failure, to just see it's endurance. Ryobi would be a good choice for someone to get that has no existing battery line. They are the least expensive to get into. And are made by the same master company as Milwaukee TTI. Good luck in your search.
