  1. Hi

Its been a while since I posted on here.

I read posts every now and then but I have lost the spark I once had for DeWalt.

It has got to the stage I think DeWalt is loosing its way a little.

There focus has changed or become so wide it has fallen behind other companies in getting the more innovative and needed tools out to its customers. to name a few 1/2 cordless router, cordless belt sander, 23g nail gun.

I know that the last 2 are out (23g nail gun in the USA not UK) or on the brink of being out (cordless belt sander).

I was on this forum 3-4 years ago asking for these and I am still waiting!

I almost bought the 23g nail gun from amazon the other day (an import from the USA). It comes to something when a company like amazon gets a stock of something in to fill an obvious gap in the market and DeWalt just blindly carries on regardless.

Sorry to rant I only came on to ask if any one knows if and when the UK might see the 23g nailer??

  2. Hi

Its been a while since I posted anything. Thought i would have look and see if there was anything of interest i had missed. I noticed that there was not much interest in the Dewalt ToughCase+ system that is supposed to be coming out any time now. Has any one seen them in the wild yet? or has anyone got a date for there release in both USA or UK?? I am interested in the MEDIUM and LARGE as the small and medium are already available in the UK with a variety of bits in them. I want them to re purpose the medium and large cases to carry other items.

Flexvolt 1/2 router would be great.

I was talking to someone a few days ago (no names). He has been reliable for info in the past.

He attended a Private Dewalt "show and tell" at one of Dewalt's R&D facilities. While he was there he noticed what he said looked like a 1/2" Flexvolt router on a table away from the area they were showing off the new tools. When he asked the rep about it, another rep covered it and removed it out of sight. SO if this is true there my be a 1/2" router in the works. I don't know how far away though.

Has anyone else heard anything about this???

The new 12ah battery would be spot on to power it!

The 12ah battery being released now is in my opinion a sign of more power hungry tools on the way. Like the 1/2" router!!

Anyone have a NEW tool in mind for the 12ah?

  5. Thanks for the help!

I think in might email DeWALT and see what I get back.

I have not finalized the deign yet so I could change it if it is going to get me in trouble!!!!!

plus I think I might attach a picture of what I intend on doing. I think they might like it!!

  6. Hi all

I probably know the answer to this but I thought I would ask. I am designing some T shirts to be made for my company and I would like to have the DeWALT logo as part of my design.

Can I do this or do I need permission from DeWALT them selves. (not sure how I would get permission). I am not after selling them so I am not after profiting from this. just would like to have the logo on to match all my tools.

PLUS its a bit of free advertisement for DeWALT!!! (wink, wink)

And if any DeWALT reps on here can help in getting the permission if I need it, that would be fantastic!!!!

Any Help would be much appreciated !!!

  7. Bluetooth integration on Dewalt tools!!! I love that!!!

Bluetooth TAG I also love that!!

Bluetooth adaptor?? not 100% sure on that?? what could that be for?? what would existing tools use that for??

One things for sure, I will have to find buyers for me drill and impact driver so I can upgrade when the Bluetooth ones come out!!

  8. Sorry not had chance to reply.

I am keeping both. The corded and the Flexvolt (when it arrives!!)

Even if I wait till the Flexvolt arrives and I try the port to see if it fits, I am still none the wiser as to where I can get hold of the port as a part for the corded one in either case!

It is a little frustrating the fact that parts are so hard to get hold of in some cases!! Some tools I can get hold of just about anything then things like this seem to be like pulling teeth to find!!

Surely there is some one on this forum in Dewalts inner circle that can help!!

Kenneth Denmark or midogrumpy I am looking in your direction!! ;D ;):D

  9. Sorry I haven't explained it properly.

I have the corded version already.

I have the flexvolt version on order and should have it in about 2 weeks.

The corded saw does not have the airlock port and I want to change it so I can use dewalt's airlock system with it. At the moment I am using the adaptors, and as good as they are, it is still easy to catch the hose and knock it out.

I can't find a part number for it anywhere.

The link you have included only has the standard dust port listed as number.

    138 - DeWalt DUST PORT
    DWS520-3-138-N025979

which is the one already fitted to my saw.

I know the corded version can come with the airlock port already fitted as I found out 2 days.

That is why I thought that the port on the flexvolt saw could fit to the corded saw. And If it did I could order that instead. BUT I can't even find a website that supplies any parts for the flexvolt saw!!

  10. Hi

I currently have a DWS520 Plunge saw (TYPE 3) and a DCS520 Plunge saw (Flexvolt) on order.

The new Flexvolt plunge saw has a dust port that is compatible with the airlock system that the DWV902M extractor uses.

The DWS520 Is just a straight dust

I thought that the corded saw had not been made with the airlock port until 2 days ago when I went to a site and another joiner had the corded saw but with the airlock port!!

I had a look at the model number and it is exactly the same as mine, it is even a TYPE 3 just like mine. I cant see any other difference with the two saws!!

So I had a look on my usual websites for tool parts and can't find any exploded illustrations that show the airlock port. All I can find the standard straight dust port.

so I tried to look for parts for the Flexvolt saw because they seem to look the same and might be able to fit the corded saw. But I can't seem to find any website that lists parts for the Flexvolt saw at all.

does any one know the part number for the airlock dust port and/or if the airlock port from the Flexvolt will fit the corded saw???

And if anyone knows any really good tool parts websites in the UK please let me know!!

    Thanks for the help!!

  11. I have seen a video review somewhere that said it was a way to see if the saw had been used. If you were to return the unit and say it has not been used they can tell by that bit of plastic if the saw has been run or not. When you run it for the first time it will cut through it and you will not notice it again. As far as I am aware it is not a fault.

    ALL ebrochures are public

posted on the internet / web

Most European countries have one on their own

There are always 2-4 per year (e.g. Q1, and Q4)

UK is behind; just called them, they will send me a pdf version

here is the link for the Netherlands Version

    http://www.dewalt.nl/services/DeWALT-Brochures.html

page 16 shows the NEW TSTAK Boxes, as well as two new Toughsystem items (like walll mount)

list price is always how, normally market price is 20% lower or even more !

    cheers

Did you ever get that PDF? I have been on Dewalt's UK site and they still have august 2015 brochure on there. cant seem to find an up to date version!

  13. Hi

I bought the DCV582 about 18 months ago and for what I us it for I am happy with it. But now Dewalt are offering the DCV584L which as far as I can see has the air lock system on the end of the hose, a new adapter for the on board tools and the filter is now class L. The on board tools look to have not been changed just the adapter. And it seems to have the same 300w motor as the DCV582.

Is this all they have changed? I can't see any other changes!

So my question is: Can I just fit the class L filter from the DCV584L on to my DCV582 and then class it as a class L extractor???

    I want a 10" 120v cordless/corded table saw, please...

I am hanging on and waiting to see if dewalt bring one out! That is the only reason I have not bought the 60v one!!

There has got to be more things to come on the 120 v side of the flexvolt system. It would be odd to only have the 12" miter saw.

    hi

looks like you got the saw with "normal" saw shoe

    I mean the base plate

the option to be compatible with track saw rails is great

    actually a nust have !

you shoulddefinately upgrade that option !

    cheers

Yes I have seen the DCS576 with the track base.

The track base actually has 6mm less on the depth of cut than the normal base, 61mm as appose to 67mm.

Plus I am waiting for the flexvolt plunge saw to come out in Q1 of next year.

I am not really interested in using my DCS575 on a track.

  16. Ok

I have had the saw for just over a week now and I have been battering it over the last few days!!

I have one thing to say about it.....

!!!!!!!!!! THE SAW IS AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The power behind it is just AWESOME. It powers through everything I have thrown at it.

I have cut a number of materials with it over the last week from 12 mm OSB to 25 mm ply, from roofing batten to 4" x 2" on a 45 degree angle. The only time I have noticed the motor even give the slightest sign of slowing down was when I was cutting some wet 4" x 2" along the grain, but even then it cut well.

I have always had Dewalt saws, corded and cordless and I have never realised that I have been missing an LED light!! it is great and it is positioned really well. (I know this is not new on other brands of saws!)

The battery indicator, when pressed stays on for a few seconds after release and then fades out. I thought that this was a nice touch. Weight wise the battery is about 1/3 heavier than the 5 amp so it is noticeable but not so much so I would complain. ( I have not weighed them both so that is not an accurate comparison, just an estimate to how they feel in my hand).

It is comfortable to use, the blade being on the right as appose to blade on the left like on the trim saw is not a factor as there is excellent visibility from a well designed and positioned opening in the blade guard through to the cutting point.

I own a Dewalt DWE575K which has a lot of the same characteristics as the flexvolt saw and I am ALMOST seriously thinking of putting it in storage because the flexvolt saw is so good!!!

    ALMOST  !?!?

One down fall (its not massive though) is the run time :( it feels a little like going back to the days when I was using the 18v Nano 2amp stem packs on a trim saw.

Because I use the DCS391 (pic above) a lot with 5 amp batteries, the run time on that is good.

It is hard to describe how it feels! It just does not feel like it runs for quite long enough. This might be the fact that I only have 2 flexvolt batteries at the moment as appose to the 20 I have that will go in the trim saw 22 if the flexvolt ones are included. And I don't normally charge my batteries on site, so when they are dead they are DEAD until I get home. But I have had to charge a few on site to get me through the day.

I might feel different when I purchase a few more. I think having 4 might be enough for the days I am using it intensely.

But I do plan on getting the 12" mitre saw in the new year when it is released, PLUS others.

So I can see 20 flexvolt batteries being bought over the next 12 months or more to cover the other tools I intend on getting if the conversation I had with my tool guy is anything to go off. Lots of things to come apparently!! With a few hints ;)
