  1. I'm reviving old thread here. After doing very much research I went with the dcd710s2. I disassemble many devices and power screwdrivers work the absolute best of course. 30+ screws etc. I went with the 3/8 drill instead of 1/4 screwdriver so I could it for household DIY type stuff. I bought a Dewalt 14.4v many, many years ago. Best drill I've every owned. Year was 2000 to be exact. Was awesome. Other guys I worked with were using 18v Dewalt tools. Zero complaints and never even heard of chuck wobble. I did research and everything pointed to the dcd710s2. Was actually excited when I got it. Still am to be honest. Been using cheap battery powered screwdrivers that don't last. I found a used 9.6v Makita while back and its just too heavy for my work and batteries are wasted. Anyways, I paid $120 shipped for the dcd710s2 shipped which is pretty sweet. I don't mind paying more for basically just a screwdriver as long as its proper. I believe everyone would agree, right? Having a proper tool that will last and work the way I want is well worth 2x that to me. The first day I had it I was testing it out. Zero chuck wobble. None at all. I was very happy with it. Second day actually working with it(same 1/4 magnetic bit holder never moved)and its wobbling and vibrating when I use it. WEAK. No matter what I do. It still works just fine for what I do but having a 'brand new' tool that has chuck wobble just isn't right to me. I was searching around and found this post. Haven't seen anything else on the internet talking about which chuck to upgrade this one to. I am calling in warranty tomorrow but something tells me its a waste of time. Going to call anyways and see what they say. My whole point of this post was to give a huge THANKS to the OP for the valuable info. I'm down to spend some bucks making this thing work the way I think it should. BTW, if you guys want me to run any test or anything to show you what a day old dcd710s2 chuck wobble looks like I'll show you. Granted, its not bad but Dewalt is supposed to be good. I still like it though. Much better then what I was using before. EDIT:If you're wondering why I don't return it, its because I bought it online. This isn't really a seller issue to me and returning it wouldn't be the best thing to do. I'd rather mod it and have it work properly then do that. Hopefully Dewalt is doing something to correct this issue though. Maybe they are using proper chucks for the problem ones idk...
