  1. Hello everyone I'm in my last set of class for my automotive technology degree, I working the parts department at a heavy diesel dealership for westernstar trucks. I work with the night service writer at his shop when I have time. I help him build hot rods and anything for projects that we can come up with. Working on a 1958 283 chevy engine in my engine rebuilding class. I like to work with anything engine or mechanical.
  2. I am a student a Madison college (matc) and am in my engine rebuilding class we can do almost every we don't grind cranks and line hone. So we have time to work. I'll be posting more as I go. I'm measuring the heads and block and all the other parts. Thanks for all the interest in my project.
  3. if i go with a mild rv cam i can run stock everything and get some better mpgs
  4. It's a 58 block heads manifold and distributor but idk what it's going in yet
  5. More pictures added and more to come as the project goes on
  6. I'm gunna use it for more of a grocery getter than anything. I need new push rods lifter valve springs and if the heads check out okay I will be using them. I wanna try to keep it somewhat stock cuz of all the matching numbers. Some one used rtv to hold all the valve keepers and what not in so it's been a pain to get all that out. I've got it all torn down and going to clean it up to measure it.
  7. I thought for some of the car guys if show this. It's 58 chevy 283 all matching numbers I'm doing a complete rebuild Thinking about a mild rv cam Tell me what you think
