this is not uncommon on all saws.download the manual and most explain how to adjust .A large builders square is really handy for this and dont loosen the bolts to much,It will take some patiance .good luck

If this is the tool for you,First you need to work out is this for home use or constant work use.the 18v would suit a tradesman more that the 12.
