@Jronman I've yet to figure out how to get HD.com to ship to Canada. If you use the Canadian site or go to a Canadian store you get ripped off big time.

Shiptoit might work? I think you have to pay a fee, shipping, and customs. I have never tried it with Home Depot, but it has worked for me with other stores.

Ya ..the brushless thing is a big deal...wish you left blade guys would get the same as us right blade guys...should be a choice for everyone, even if the profits don't warrant it....

I've convinced myself that DeWalt is secretly holding out so they can release a Flexvolt worm drive saw. I have no reason to think this, but the new Makita saw (not technically a worm drive, I know) gives me hope.

  3. UWO is just the power generated (in watts) when the drill or whatever is going full tilt. Torque is a measure of the drills ability to turn an object, like a screw.

Using similar units, UWO is in Nm/s (Newton-metres per second) and torque is in Nm (Newton-metres). The reasoning from Dewalt is that looking at torque over time gives a more accurate description of a drill's potential than peak torque (which is, I think, what most torque listings tend to be; thank you Surge marketing materials).

This reasoning makes sense to me because you run a drill over a period of time rather than for an instant. Any engineers on the board might have a more informed opinion than I do about this.

So you guys might not know it, but there is a mathematical formula that tells you how many of a tool you should have. N+1. So N equals the amount of the tool that you currently have and +1 means you need 1 more of that tool. So it looks for impacts like. Number of impacts owned +1 more impact = the amount you should own. The best part is you can plug whatever you want into the N spot in the formula and math doesn't lie so you know it's legit.

Man Canada is real pretty. I possibly formerly, maybe currently, was/am a Canadian citizen? Idk, it gets confusing.  Moral of the story is, USA USA USA ??????????????????????????????

The government simplified it in 2013. If you have a Canadian parent, you are Canadian.

I think Quebec City is a more friendly place than Montreal. You just have to have an interpreter because they refuse to speak English. Once you are past that though, they are super polite in my experience. Most Montrealers I've met are happy to insult you in both official languages.

Maybe there should be a standard system each company uses for boxes that could connect with competitors boxes. Get a Ridgid box and you would be able to fit it on all your L-boxxes. Too many Systainers? No problem, swap one out with a tough box and have no compatibility issues between the 2 systems. Is your L-boxx too small for your DeWALT hammer drill? No problem pick up  the medium size Ridgid box.

Great idea! I wish it would happen, but getting the companies to agree is likely not easy. And if some one tries you would probably end up with this...

18V seems like overkill... 10.8V should be enough for a caulking gun

I have the original string trimmer and they have come out with a new one and they may have improved or fixed this issue. But on mine quite often the string does not advance when you want it to or need it to. I have tried to rewind it looser, tighter just about anything I can think of and it is still a problem. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I hope they addressed this on the new model. It works great other then that.

I have EGO's 15" trimmer and the bump hasn't misfired on me yet.
