  1. Looking to see if there are any specs on the makita XBUO2 36 volt blower while running on 6.0 AH batteries.

i have noticed the price has dropped on this blower on a couple of sites too $219.00 for bare tool.

When  powered by (2) 5.0 ah batteries it claims to have 29 minutes of runtime on setting #3 and would spin at 15,800 rpms on this setting.

Im curious to know if anyone knows what the runtime would be on the highest setting with (2) 6.0 ah batteries?

Would like to compare to other blowers.

    thanks guys

Me as well, I'm afraid to know what will happen after my first tough box purchase. Lol

Once I get my tool fund built up (2016 depleted it, thanks Milwaukee!) again I'm going to hit KC Tool hard picking up Knipex, Wera, and Wiha tools.

Im with you on that Justin. For my electrical hand tools i am mostly on the Klien  side, but I have to explore a little more with KC tool and pick up some other brands.

I pulled out everything I had at the time except the 2-1/4 HP EVS Multi-Base Router kit to take this photo back in the beginning of October for an Instagram contest. It won me a free 9.0 battery. Everything stays in a case or bag at the moment unless I'm using it, once I get the garage setup as a shop I'll have things in their own area. I'll pull everything out and get an updated "family photo" then.

The only decision I'm not happy with is the SDS hammer, I should have bought the the M18 Fuel version instead of corded and I probably should have picked the regular handle over the D-handle.

A few weeks ago I got the idea to move my batteries to a Milwaukee organizer with some Kaizen foam.

Original Idea before the foam arrived:

Final layout after I received 2 more 9.0 batteries:

6x 1.5Ah M12 batteries, a rapid charger and 3x 9.0Ah M18 batteries. Plenty of power in an easy to carry box. I'll probably start replacing the 1.5 batteries with compact 3.0 batteries.

Love it Josh, I'm going to order up some Kaizn foam today,

Jimbo, I might be wrong but I think every case is labled with a small white label?

Thanks, the strange this is that when the battery had 4 LED's showing the red light remained on the whole time, when it should be showing greater than 80% or fully charged.

Edit: while recharging the batteries this morning the charger does actually show the red & green led's when greater than 80% and the solid green when fully charged.

i guess I didn't leave the batteries on long enough to show this status after the battery fuel gauge read full charge

Some of the items I bought myself for Christmas arrived from Acme Tools yesterday.

I'm really liking the Milwaukee demolition screwdrivers. I'm going to order 4 more sets soon. I was happy to finally find the new double ended bits. I've been searching for them since they were announced but couldn't find them on Milwaukee's website and haven't looked in about a month. Luckily I saw the Makita set on Acme Tools and remember to look for the Milwaukee's.

I'm not impressed with the Southwire items. The wire strippers open a little too far for my liking. They're also a little short for my hands. My pinky keeps slipping off the handle. Unfortunately the only longer ones they offer have a curved handle and I prefer straight handles. The GFCI tester works but there is something noticeably rattling around inside. After playing with it over the course of a few hours the loose piece seems to have wedged itself somewhere. Hopefully the multimeter and fishtape I ordered are better.

Would you guys rather have the UTB or an awards week style with more tools being given away in greater numbers. I know people like a big win though too.

This is awesome. Can't believe how much time and energy goes into this site between all you guys. A big thank you to Dan & Eric and to all the other crew members who make it all possible.

i know my kids definitly miss the UTBGA this year but I think they are just as excited about all of these upcoming giveaways.

lookng forward to the 13th. Best of luck to everyone.

Its normal, the red light just means the battery is less than 80% charged.

I don't know if it's normal, but I had the same thing going on when I charged my 2.0 and 3.0 batteries with the fuel gauge yesterday. The red indicator was on for almost the entire charging time and the gauge was at 4 when I checked them near the end of the normal charging times. I know the 2.0 was almost entirely dead when it went on, the 3.0 was at 3 bars. I was also using the DC18RC charger

Thanks Josh, I was hoping another member was doing the same as me.

The last thing I want to do is buy another charger...

Couple of my orders came in. From Deluth Trading I picked up a fire log carrier (awesome) and a face mask for snow blowing duty. And I scored (2) Makita 6AH 18V batteries from EBay for $185.00 for both. Thought that was a good price.

Charging up these new Makita 6.0AH batteries today and I noticed that when I charged them on my Makita DC18RC Fast Charger that the red indicator light on the charger stays on indicating the battery is low on charge but as the battery is charging the LEDs on the battery itself say that it's charging up to the 4 bars (as I check them during charging). I also tried charging the batteries on an older Makita DC18SC High capacity battery charger and had the same result.

On the new 6ah battery is says to use the DC18R/S charger. So I think I'm in good shape. Does anyone know if it's normal when charging a Makita battery with the battery fuel gauge for the charger to show low battery level during the entire charging time?

    Thanks

Recently did this for my batteries. Just a Milwaukee box with Kaisen foam insert and fast charger mounted inside lid. Not the prettiest job but only spent about 45min doing it.
