  1. Haha, my HD sold out of some stuff already the 2 for 1 Diablo circular saw blades are gone and flashlights also some gloves. I guess that stuff isn't Black Friday related

Yeah our local HD had a Pro event last week, they had the Diablo blades out for sale and I snagged a couple. Haven't used them yet, but two for $10, thought they were worth a try.

  2. Great suggestions and thanks for the links. I will take a look at them.

We bought a Gladiator work bench at Sears on sale and the wife wants to buy the track system and cabinets. I'm with you guys, I don't want cabinets, things get put in them and get forgotten about.

I'm thinking the french cleat system might work, I did that to a couple of other cabinets before I knew they were called french cleats!

    Thanks,

    John

  3. I have an 8' section of wall that I'm looking to utilize for tools, shelves, etc.

I already have peg board on another 8' section, so I'm looking for suggestions on doing something different on the new section.

The wife would like to see a couple of cabinets and I'm thinking of some type of buckets to put bolts/nails/screws in.

Any experience with the plastic systems or do it yourself systems?

  4. I'm all for using competitors coupons and taking advantage of deals and asking that a store honors an advertised deal on something that isn't explicitly spelled out.

But, isn't buying something with the intent to get a discount on something else, then returning the first item and not giving the discount back getting close to stepping over the line?

I mean I can go along with it if you truly don't like the first item and you only do it once, but doing it repeatedly in order to game the system, I can't say that I agree with that.

Not trying to be a kill joy or the morality police, but I'm sure there are folks from manufactures and stores that read these forums..........

  5. Is it one of those all steel blades designed (a long time ago) for plywood?  Something like this?

Despite those blades being designed for plywood I think they're one of the worst blades for it.  I once saw one so dull that it was impossible to tell which way it should spin since both the marking and teeth were worn off.

Yes it looks like that, I've had the saw for a lot of years, just haven't had a chance to use it much lately.

I'm thinking the cheaper option for him would be a new blade.....

Yeah, I'm thinking a new blade is a better option.....

I will take a look at the Diablo Ultra Finish, that will most likely cure the problem.

    Thanks

  6. Yesterday, I dropped by my local depot to check out the multimeters.  They had a 2216 marked down from $149 to $97, so I passed.  After checking out the terminal for clearance prices/stock (big thanks btw to whomever it was that suggested I look at the job application terminal), I found that another store across town had the clamp meters for $30.

I drove over today and I managed to snag one of the clamp meters for $30.03.  All of the 2216-20's were marked at $74.98 both in-store and online and nothing I could do would convince the sales people to give it to me for $30.  Oh well, I got one of the two.  Apparently, the sales guy told me that they were probably dropping Milwaukee as a supplier of electrical tools, so take that for what it's worth.  He also said that once they go to $.01, they can't sell them anymore... yeah, sure, OK.

FYI: anyone looking to score one of the clamp meters, you may have to ask them to look in the stock in the shelves above the electrical section.  They found a box of 10 or so of them up there.  None of them were clearance stickered and the in-store inventory only said that they had 2 in stock.

    Sweet, good deal.

  7. I have never seen the Milwaukee heated gear at any HD yet. I wish that they would so you could try on sizes. If this winter gets as cold as last year (they are saying it won't for my area though) I will be getting the jacket or hoodie.

I'm further north so I guess they want to get them out there before the snow flys.

They had both on display, didn't try them on, but they looked well made.
