How do you put the smoke back in?
I was admittingly pushing my 40v string trimmer pretty hard today and i smelt something, looked down and smoke was pouring up out of the motor pretty good. I let it set and hit the trigger and it would spin up to full power but after a bit...more smoke
I am really bummed, i only bought it last May. I guess its time to look up a service center, how does this process work as I have never dealt with this type of thing before. I purchased it at Lowe's.
Any help would be appreciated.

i bought a couple of the speed bores individually since i dont often have to make big holes like that, enjoyed them very much. The daredevil spades look good too, kind of like what id imagine Batman would use.

i figured, just wasn't sure since drywall isn't exactly in my wheelhouse of things i do regularly.

I was fixing to start a big remodel that involved a lot of drywall (on hold for now) on an older home and this was definitely going to be on the list. How is the availability of the screw strips? pretty interchangeable with off the shelf stuff? I have never really paid a lot of attention to these things as i never considered it before

ha, that made me chuckle out loud.
i was curious about the meaning too. good to know -
Thank you for your welcome's. Yup, I was thinking that I could either use a Dremmel or duct tape and make it fit. LOL
I tend to think what Glasseyi was saying, the dimensions seem to be close enough to get it to fit. Will be ordering the tool this weekend, will let everyoine know how it turns out.
I like the way you think

nice write up man, if i stay on the road, im definitely adding this to my tool bag, being stuck on the side of the interstate twirling a cross as traffic wizzes by is some scary stuff. One of these would definitely speed thigns up.

looks beefy, i also like where the selector switches are

They already have some of those in brushless:
The Bosch brushless impacts arent available in USA yet. they already have a 1/4 hex and 3/8 square one recently released in EU. 1/4 square would be pretty sweet.
1/4" 12v rachet would be slick too

Cool idea would be to make battery attachment blank attachment points with a 3d printer. You could attach them to anything after that. I should actually start a business making them
this is brilliant.

im in for a mower, the string trimmer has been awesome. My wife especially loves the simplicity of the battery OPE stuff.

How?

Man, im a little miffed today. I called dewalt and they had me take my trimmer to Service Center, i didnt get around to that since i was traveling until like 4/26. I went back two weeks ago to check on things. Apparently, they didnt send it out until like 2 weeks later. They tell me it hasnt been long enough but she called the factory. They couldnt really give me any answers but said that they were going to drop ship me a new unit. TWO WEEKS ago. Still nothing. Then i see today that theyre releasing the FlexVolt trimmer. I am not a pro landscaper by any means, but i had a good sized lot and wanted something that would not give me issues. I know theres lots of products that replaced and upgraded and it should be expected, but after only a year into a new segment? cmon
sorry, just had to vent.
