After awhile, the blade release does foul up with dirt and dust, making it hard to move the handle. I just sprayed wd40 in there and it frees it right up, I think it makes it easier to move even from brand new

I usually do but sometimes that wd makes it collect even more.

I saw several of those being sold on Ebay while I was scouring for a good deal. However, what I saw were used, not new from that brand, and since I really don't know that brand very well, I avoided it. I guess you will be the forums guiny pig. Let us know how you like it, make a few cuts, see how she handles.
What is the info on that saw? How many amps? I assume its 7 and 1/4. I dont see any dust extraction abilities. I am sure you've seen my Ryobi saw, but here it is with dust extraction ready to go...
That's a nice saw pronuts, i like that attachment. Its 7 1/4, 15 amp and dont know if they sell the dust extraction attachment but not in need of it. I like it dirty

The one you have is their pro grade
SKILSAW branded are their higher end saws you got the sidewinder but they also have work drives. From your pictures is might be magnesium too which is good because it reduces weight.
Skil brand is like the black and decker of the Bosch group, owner of skilsaw. Stay away from those they are junk but what you have is a quality saw probably 15 amps.

Yup, full magnesium motor housing and base. Feels light compared to my dewalt worm drive.
It must be a good one because it says PELIGRO!

I have like 20 sweaters and jackets ?. we only get like 3 months of summer and 9 of winter. Forecasted for snow on Thursday. On the positive note its good to see your troubleshooting others peoples Mickey mouse work to make it right and safe. Salutations from the cascades of California.

Ive had porter cable and dewalt(both good but not great), but this super sawzall has taken a beat down and still going strong 6 years later. Pros:I love the detachable cord, smooth cutting, super strong and 360 swivel handle with variable speed. Cons: the blade holding chuck gets jammed from time time and need to pull out the pliers/lube to release the blade.
My newest addition(just picked it up over the weekend) the sawzall fuel. Pros: strong smooth cutting, great ergonomics, quick blade chage latch, light and cordless. Cons: none
Well thats my 2 cents. I vote for the sawzall all the way.

I see why your called knarly Carl. You have some skill and looks like your well set up for any battle. I enjoyed all the stories and tips you have given us and look forward for more. As my old boss would say "your only good as your tools" sometimes you need to spend that extra 100 bucks so you don't have to buy it twice. Awsome job, remember not to bite your nails.☺

Personally if they where my tools i would go the extra length to repair. Source of the problem is bare metal. No matter how much lube you put on, the rust will just keep coming. Rust remover, than use rustolium spray paint among seal the metal(tape off plastic and spray lightly). Once dry use lube of preference, I recommend 3 in 1. Do this at least once a year.

A couple days ago I was just telling wifey I wanted to pick up another husky if they sell again at Black Friday but now I'm having second thoughts ??
I personally like this style better than their tall cab. The work bech is what sells it. Wonder what it will go for on black Friday.
