  1. Congratulations Bear! I believe you said you worked for an independent shop on one of dans periscopes of I remember right. Good luck this week.

Thanks very much Nicholas, yes it's a small shop, just me the owner and his nephew. It's good to start small till I get back into the swing of things!

  2. Bear once again congrats on the new job bro and man that box looks so Sweet!!!! Hopefully u liked the first day bro.

Thanks big MikeZ I appreciate the kind words bro! First day was hard, raised on European cars and all I did today were domestic trucks and I ain't never worked on em...first job was AC compressor and drier on a Dodge 3500 dually crew cab can't get much bigger...lol

  3. so I finally started my new job today and for the first time in a long time all the components of my toolbox were in the same place. I have had the end cabinet at the house to repair some damage done by the shipping company and to add some custom graphics. Today was the first day it was all done and put together. I realize i posted pictures of my box in the "Show off your box" section but I wanted to show the crew what she looks like all together. Rough day at work, haven't worked for 2 years due to immigration bullshit so its hard getting back into it but it'll come!

  4. wow nice collection mate! i see some stuff i have amongst it, those DeWalt chisels are nice mine are stamped Sheffield England so I'm hoping they are sheffield steel but not sure, either way they are great chisels...nice collection of nailers too!

  5. Thanks bear. Great words of inspiration. The plan is that when my son gets older this will be his box and i will hopefully upgrade to the epic series. But that's 10 years down the road.

An Epiq is my ambition too  JR, The Master series box will last you and your son a lifetime thats for sure and 10 years down the road might be that long before I upgrade too! Unfortunately though I have no kids to pass mine onto but thats ok, when I'm old it'll give me something to polish...lol

it took me a long time to get my box to where it is and my starting point was a good box, I have a lot of other brands other than Snap-on, Knipex, OTC, Matco, MAC and some Britool stuff I brought from the UK when I moved to Canada. I'm in my mid 40's now and its taken me this long to get my set up to where it is and I never owned a Snap-on box till I was in my late 30's cause I could never afford it so to own a Master series box is a great start to make!

  7. love the green bro, my first car was a very similar colour, 1978 Ford MkII Ford Escort with a black vinyl roof...happy days! It don't matter if everything aint Snap-on, theres a lot of great manufacturers out there making tools just as good and with the same warranty, but you do have one of the best boxes on the market to keep it all in and thats what counts! Welcome to the forum!

what would be really cool is a TIA epoxy inlay sign to hang on the back wall of the top box!...lol or i take off my butcher block work surface and bring it to Dan so he can carve it in for me!

  9. oh lord! i've wanted a mini for quite some time, just isn't practical for my life, but geez the john cooper works versions are just ridiculously priced, arent they? yours looks sweet, though... manual trans i hope?

unfortunately no its an automatic ankur but it does have a sport mode and paddle shifters and actually accelerates quicker than the manual...but the GP is stick!

  10. wow, that's an incredible setup! love to see people taking pride in their tools. when i was younger i felt like the dirtier the tool, the more manly i was because it was obvious i was using them more. now i understand how that thinking is ridiculous, not to mention destroys the tools.

thats exactly it ankur, I have had criticism for stuff being too clean "you're not a good mechanic if your tools are clean" or "you mustn't work very hard of you have time to keep your tools clean" but like you say its pride in your tools, they cost too much to abuse and plus i get pleasure out of cleaning them! thanks for the praise bro!

  11. Could you be a Snapon fan by chance? Well, just don't get too excited and snapoff lol. Those are some really nice tools, I really love that toolbox, it looks like great quality. I like how you are representing TIA too, good deal man! BTW, are those a set of tuning forks?

thanks mate, the box is great! the quality is top notch and the best feature is how deep the drawers are, 28" so i can fit a lot of suff in there! the tools that look like tuning forks are used to split ball joints usually referred to in the US as pickle forks!

  12. My dream box, that's awesome. Thanks for sharing

wow thanks Eric, coming from one half of TIA thats high praise indeed!...Did you notice the stickers Eric?? Flying the TIA colours!

  13. wow you have a really great set up looks like a lot of work involved to get to that point.

Thanks Pete, yeah it took me around 10 years to get it to this stage and it's an ongoing process...lol

  14. Yikes Rover thanks to the stories I heard from Top Gear what Rover put together made anything GM, Ford, or Chrysler made back then look like a well put together luxury automotive. Still some of the Rover cars looked awesome even if reliability was a problem.

yeah they had a lot of issues, some of the better cars were made in conjunction with Honda, I had a Rover 216 GSi that had a twin cam Honda engine and transmission and was pretty much bullet proof but anything 100% Rover was pretty shitty...but the K-series engine was a good unit except for oil leaks...but that was the problem with old British bikes as well....the Japanese made better bikes and much more reliable engines! British cars do have a lot of character though as unreliable and expensive as they can be to run. Strangely enough the new MINI's can be just as problematic as the old ones but I've never driven a car that puts a bigger smile on my face whenever I drive it!
