  1. I don't see this as a problem I used the Colt for the first time last night on some 3/4" plywood and I love it (keeping in mind this is my first router). I bought a cheapo set of bits (Ryobi) and I wasn't impressed with the cuts (alot of tear out) so I went back to HD and got a Freud bit and it made a world of difference.
  2. I'm gonna pick up a Colt today, thanks guys!
  3. I'm looking at getting a router but having a tough time deciding on what size. I'm looking at getting a Bosch but can't decide between the Colt or the 1617EVS Model. I would be using it for edging and a few times on cut outs, mainly on 3/4" plywood. Any help?
  4. Never had a pair of Keen's but a buddy does and he doesn't like them but he is pretty rough on everything he has. I've had Red Wings for the last ten years and I don't foresee myself getting anything else. When I was in the field I was on concrete 8 to 14 hours a day and never had an issue with them. They cost a pretty penny but when you factor in longevity they pay for themselves. Like any good tool, buy for price buy'em twice. A buddy of mine is an electrician and he swears by Carolina Gold's, but I've never tried them myself.
  5. New guy here. Live in the midwest and I've been in the construction industry for about 25 years. I've got a problem with tools like most of you guys, the wife thinks I need help so I figured I'd join a support group.

Well since I needed it today I bit the bullet and got an M18 kit. The special for May is buy a kit and get additional 4.0 battery so that made it a litttle less painful when swiping the old CC. I was tempted by the M12 but I just had reservations about cutting through thicker material with it so I figured go big or go home. Once I got it out first thing i noticed it its got some heft to it but not to the point that its uncomfortable or awkward to use but its not light by any means. Seems just about right to be able to let the saw do the cutting instead of having to push it through (that was one of the concerns I had with the M12). Once I fired her up I was pretty surprised how well it worked and how much power it has. The "splinter guard" and clear plastic cover are pretty worthless if you ask me, they just got plugged up and I couldn't get a clear line of sight to the blade so off they went. I had bought the Ridgid Fuego compact jig saw (r31011) a couple months ago to replace an old black and decker I had suffered with for years and comparing the Ridgid to this thing the Milwaukee is hands down my choice. I'm overall pretty happy with it. The only con I can think of (after only using it for part of a day which isn't much to go one) is I don't like the blow mold case, its WAY to frikin big for what its carrying. I know its for carrying the extra battery and charger from site to site but I don't need it for that. And the splinter guard and plastic cover for the blade, hinders more than helps in my experience.

I've never had good luck with DeWalt, and all the yellow hurts my eyes.

I'm on the M12 and M18 platforms right now. I just got a new M12 fuel combo drill and impact so I'm committed there but my M18 tools are pretty beat up and getting to the point they need to be replaced so I'm trying to decide if I want to switch to Makita or Bosch before I take the plunge on another tool. I thought I had my mind made up on the M18 but after watching Jimbos video I dunno. Or maybe getting a Makita. Or a Bosch... Dammit

Anyone have the M12 or M18 jigsaw? If so how do you like it? Looking at possibly getting one tomorrow for a small project that I don't want to drag out 150ft of cord for.
  12. Was in Tool Depot yesterday and on an impulse I got the 6 1/4" saw kit (+charger and battery) and got a free 5.0 battery and to replace my aging m12 impact & drill I got a new m12 Fuel kit. M12 kit was on sale for $229.00 versus $259.99 at the local Home Depot so it was hard to pass up.
  13. I took another look at mine and the only way I can find to adjust it so it doesn't rub is by using the two nylon screws in the front by the handle. By adjusting those screws I can get clearance in the back. Of course it puts the whole fence at a slight incline from front to back but I don't see an issue with it.
  14. I got one of these last week out of curiosity, thinking it would be one of those things that is not an everyday use tool but handy when you need it. BUT it is soooo under powered its funny. It is small and compact but the way you have to hold it in your hand to apply the right amount of pressure it ends up being the same length as a Milwaukee M12 impact. Took it back the next day.
  15. I checked and I don't have the rubbing issue with mine. Everything was pretty dead on from the factory.
  16. I bought the Delta from Lowes but I'm really kicking myself now. Its a great saw thats well built but I really wish I would have went with the DeWalt or the Bosch so I could store it downstairs when I don't have a use for it. The Delta is always in the way. The way the wheels are set up its easy to move around the garage but I'm always moving it out of the way.
  17. I bought the 10" set on a whim and was amazed at how well they grip and leave no marks. Bought the 7" set and haven't used an adjustable wrench since. The 12"er's are a bit pricey but on my list.
