My 16g is one of my favorite tools of all time. I look for reasons to pull it out of the box.
I'm with you 100% on that. Just got it for my birthday in the beginning of November, and I absolutely love it.
What's the chances anyone has heard about a new 18g brad nailer coming out in the near future? I'm contemplating buying the Senco Fusion since I don't really want to buy the previous version of the DeWalt and have a new one come out right after... Would REALLY prefer to stay with the same battery pack in a shiny new DeWalt though if at all possible, especially if it's anywhere near as good as the finish nailer.
If anyone from DeWalt is reading this - QUIT DRAGGING YOUR FEET ON THE BRAD NAILER!

like wise, Milwaukee or diablo whatever is on sale when I need them however awhile back I got 3 or 4 big packs of diablo kits for 1 cent because of a price error so I'm stocked up pretty good as I don't use them everyday.....1 blade lasts me awhile....
That's a nice score right there. Way to take advantage!

Any updates from you guys that have been wearing these for a while now? Still liking them? Are they worth a purchase, or have you moved onto something else? They look pretty awesome...

That's a hell of a score

HAHA good one. So do we get to see you jump your bike off this now?
THIS.
I want to see it in action.

Was a little skeptical on how it'd come out at first, but after watching the video, I'm actually kind of impressed. Like Jronman, I'm not a huge fan of red brick, but it surprised me how nice it came out. Looked pretty damn good.

As electrical horrors go, this is pretty mild. Still remember vaporizing a pair of Klein pliers when I started as an electrician. I had been sent to cut Nomex to water heater in a crawl space so plumbers could move it to a different location. Cut cable and was temporarily flash blinded by my pliers vaporizing. I had looked around the side of the house to see if the meter had been installed yet and it still had the glass cover on, so I proceeded. I should have (and always did after this) looked inside the glass. Some @#$$^& had put bare wire jumpers in the meter box so they could play their radio. Thank goodness for insulated handles as I was sitting in damp earth when it happened. Moral: NEVER underestimate the danger imbeciles will put you in for their convenience!
Wow. That's some scary stuff.
And the moral of your story is 100% true!

Well I didn't make my deadline. We had family over today and wanted it done before then. I wasn't able to work on it much yesterday due to the wife's family Christmas. Here is how it stands right now. The toilet and faucet are hooked up. Tub still needs to be put together and the drawer fronts need to be put on.

That looks fantastic. Great work so far!

Played with it a little bit. Cool idea, but like JMG said, I found it a little clunky. I like the idea though.
That being said, I always end up finding out that my original plans tend to change once I actually start moving stuff around. Maybe I'm just a bad planner!

Very cool! I want to do that but can't with my DeWalt jobsite saw. I want a cabinet saw so bad!!!
Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat. Really need to work on making some space for a cabinet saw.

seemed to be the best option. being able to use the saws measure tape to put it back for repeatable cuts will be nice. just have to document where the cuts were at. I added a dust collection port the other night as well. tried it out real quick and works great.
Any updates on the dust collection after more usage? And do you have any pics with the dust collection setup? Love the design of this.

Great idea there. Always love seeing people make stuff to work in their apartment. My wife yells at me for making a mess in my garage when I'm working on projects - I couldn't imagine working in an actual apartment. Apparently I need to step up my dust collection game lol.

Let us know how it works out once it's all wired up. I spent way too much time last week looking into garage heaters, so I'm definitely interested in hearing how this ends up.

Awesome. Your excitement is contagious. I wish I had decent heat at the inlaws where we have a shop set up. That's why i haven't been in there for awhile.
But yes, I imagine this Christmas will be the best you've ever had....
+1 to that. Trying to finish up Christmas presents in the garage when it was -10 out the other day was miserable. Had me begging my wife to let me build a shop in the basement lol.

I agree with everyone who says that a jobsite saw is not what will work best in a shop. If you can swing the size at all, go with a a better saw than a jobsite saw. Small spaces can make it tough, but with some creativity, you should be able to make it work. The Ridgid hybrid saw is not all that much larger than a jobsite saw. You can always store stuff under the right hand table to make up for lost space. Plus it has casters, so you can push it out of your way when you need the space.
I did start with a jobsite saw because I didn't have much space, but I was extremely happy when I upgraded to the hybrid saw.
Spend some time thinking this purchase through before you commit to something you maybe disappointed with down the road.
I can't wait til that day eventually comes for me. I'm currently using one of the DeWalt jobsite saws, and while I can make it work good enough for what I need right now, it leaves me wanting more a lot of the time. That'll come a little down the road though.
That being said, if you have to go with a smaller jobsite saw like I had to at the time, the DeWalt should be able to handle pretty much anything you throw at it; it has for me at least. I will say this though - it was a pain trying to put through full sheets of plywood before building an outfeed/side extension table. Obviously they weren't designed for that, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

That looks exactly like one of my Christmas presents.
Also added the 20v circular saw and the Ridgid Oscillating Edge Belt/Spindle Sander (plus a couple gift cards to HD). Not sure yet if I'm keeping the sander or returning it for a shiny new brad nailer that'd probably get more use... Nice little haul either way!

I have the Flexvolt miter saw. I've only used it for one project so far, so I haven't really put it through the paces yet, but it has worked flawlessly for me up to this point. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the 780 to compare. I definitely don't have any complaints yet though.
