  1. I "was" holding out for the 10" as well. As I said in my OP, I dont really want a 12" saw...But at that price I can afford a Freud Industrial blade for it. But I also need a rolling stand for it as well as a stand for the FV tablesaw I snagged on clearance a few weeks ago......
  2. Did anyone else take advantage of the cyber monday deal at homedepot.com to get the FV mitersaw for $300? Just the saw and 120V adapter, no batteries (I have 8 FV batteries at this point). I waited all day, honestly hoping they would sell out....I just dont need the saw. I dont really want a 12" saw. My 10" Dewalt slider fits my every need, and i also have the 20V max 7 1/4" slider. However, by 7pm last night they still werent sold out, and I just couldnt hold off anymore......
  3. So what are most people running for blades on the FV tablesaw? I'm kind of a blade junkie, and really like having good blades on all my saws. I'm partial to Freud industrial, but they only make 8", not 8 1/4". That is only a loss of 1/8" of capacity, so not an issue really i guess. Is the Dewalt blade that comes with the saw good enough that you just left it on?
  4. So I finally got the saw out of the box last night. I am a bit disappointed that it cant run a dado stack. However for the price, i'm going to be keeping it. I do still have the 7499 if I need a dado outside of my shop. I ran a 3/4" piece of oak just to test it out, and was simply amazed at the power. I pushed it through faster then I would ever actually feed a piece of oak in real world application, and the saw ate it up. I'll be putting down over 1000 sq ft of hickory hardwood in the next few months. I look forward to trying it out on that flooring to see what it can really do
  5. So I picked up the 60V tablesaw at HD yesterday for $250, new in box. I really dont need it, as i have a Ridgid 3650 in my shop, and the dewalt 7499 job site saw. but when i saw that price I just couldnt pass it up. I already have 7 of the smaller 60V batteries, so i should be good on power. So I have a couple questions. First, is this really going to fill a need for me? I know only I can answer that; but to those guys that already have a corded jobsite saw, do you find yourself going more with the flexvolt saw out of convenience, or sticking with the corded saw for capacity and power? Secondly, has anyone run a dado on the flexvolt? I'm currently putting some PVC window trim which has a rabbit cut for the siding to slide under. For the ends, i have to cut my own dado. Can the flexvolt handle this with say a 1/2" worth of dado stack? Thanks for any help!
  6. Thanks for all the help guys. And yes, replacing them is even easier then the video makes it look. I pulled my head cap off yesterday, and as it turns out I do not have a weak return spring. I have a BROKEN return spring. I already have a new set on order, hopefully here by monday. I plan on roofing all this weekend, so I shouldnt even need the gun hardly at all before I get it fixed thanks again for all the help guys!! You led me to the exact problem
  7. Thanks for the replies guys. I believe I have done everything that has been mentioned. I only use paslode nails, have stripped the gun down and cleaned with my compressor and a rag. I have never tried to push the lever into the nails, only pulled it back and released normally to try and get it to feed. I have not tried oiling anything, as I was worried since I saw the no oil sticker. I do think it may possibly be the weak return spring that you guys have mentioned. Typically if i pull back the magazine feed lever, i can hear the drive pin return to the set position and see the nails feed forward. Are there any instruction online for the process of replacing this spring?
  8. So i have the second gen 20V Framer, and it has developed an issue with nail feeding. The gun probably has around 8k nails through it. Has worked flawlessly up to now, but now the nails wont feed right about half the time. Appears worse as the the magazine gets closer to being empty. Sometimes i can just rack the feeder mechanism, other times i have to actually pull back the feeder, let the nail clip slide back, and then re feed the clip. Not sure if its an issue with the feed/spring mechanism, or with the driver head itself. I have tried cleaning best I can with out totally dismantling the head unit. anyone else experienced this problem? Any advice on how to best clean the gun. Also, what is the best way to find a local shop that I can have the unit serviced if that is what is necessary? thanks in advanced for any help
