We never had a Ginsu, but I always wondered if they were really all that good.
It's never to late to try one out .
Your probably better off with a Cutco though.

The build them on the edge of the hill. It's just like the pic only instead of a ramp going up to it you just drive straight out onto it from the top of the hill. It does work.
Pits are a lot more popular here in Florida, hills being fairly rare. Couple of things about Florida, for one, most of the trucks don't need any kind of lift to work under easily, and secondly, I'm always amazed at how many lifts I see in peoples garages and driveways.

Hard to tell. I keep thinking how the movie "Back to the future II" predicted 2015 would look like. Doesn't look like we're gonna make it. I really liked the idea of the food hydrator too.
If the past has taught us anything, it has taught us that we're terrible at predicting the future.

Finally snagged one of these.....
Cool, how did you come across it? Isn't that a weird 9/32-drive?

Looks like California Power saw safety bill AB 2218 that would have mandated Saw Stop technology died in the Senate. It wasn't voted down, it wasn't voted on at all.
I have a feeling that we haven't heard the end of this...

The Bulldog is a cool drill but the 2 I was looking at have quick change chucks and will turn core bits through concrete up to about 3 inch which covers most of what I do.
The Metabo also has a long nose and no D handle which can get in the way drilling for red head anchors in tight spaces when we run pipework at high level on site.
I am not happy about the made in China, but these seem to be the only 2 that do all need.
Which can you get from a better tool dealer? After the sale support is something I always consider when choosing a tool, unless it is it is a tool I have a back up for or can really do without if I have to.

Yea, sounds a bit iffy to me.
I could see it, with proper engineering, the thing is I could picture the resulting more durable components costing a bit more....

O.K which one is not made in China? LOL
I don't think Hilti has totally sold out to China yet, but I know how you feel about them. There may be a small amount of hope that Bosch has one not produced there as well. The Bosch that I have the 11255VSR was made in Germany.
If it was me and I had to pass on Hilti, and was looking for a shorter tool than my Bosch, I would pick up the Milwaukee 5359-21 which is manufactured in Germany as well. This is probably not much help to you though as we don't often have the same tools available to us in our own countries.

Torn between two drills now guys and can't decide which one.HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Would it help to ask which one wasn't made in China?
It would appear they are two differing styles, vertical or horizontal motor. Will the length of the tool matter to you? It looks like the Metabo is a bit longer. They look like they spec out pretty close. If I had to choose, I would have to lean towards the Makita as I would have a hard time finding a place to service the Metabo if I ever needed anything like warranty repairs, but they don't actually offer that model here in the states. Which one would be easier for you to get serviced?
Those are the questions I would be asking myself If I had to choose between those two.

When I was a kid my dad had a tab and the guy that ran the store lived 4 houses down. Dad had a tab and whenever I went up there they'd always ask "you want me to put it on your tab?". I miss that. There was no return policy or customer service hotline, if something was wrong he made it right. People had integrity back then. My home town had 1500 people and business owners cared what people thought. The hardware store, grocery store, pharmacy, or the service station, it didn't matter, they'd have just as soon closed up shop before they'd rip anyone off.I'm glad I got to grow up in such a time, and in such a place.
One of the things I remember from my younger days was the stores were always competing on who provided the best service. They were always going out of their way to do little extra things to get you to shop at their place, like actually helping you find the items your looking for rather than just telling you it is over on aisle 11, they actually had people that were most often knowledgeable about the products they sold rather than somebody making minimum wage looking to do as little work as possible. Not like today where the most common way the stores try to compete is who has the lowest prices. I guess it is just another step down in our race to the bottom.

I've never owned an oil- less model. I can see the perks, but like you I believe you'd get a better service life from an oiled model.
Most of the oil less nailer manufacturers claim that they last just as long, I wish their was someone to test this out to find out if it is true.

If I'm not mistaken Hanson is owned by Erwin now. Well, whoever owns Erwin own Hanson also.
Did you mean Irwin? Irwin tools is a subsidiary of Newel Rubbermaid, C.H. Hanson is a family owned company.

I've never heard of them either. Looks like pretty nice stuff though.
Supposedly, their insulated tools, I believe they call them VDEs over there, are really popular among their sparkies.

Nice find man.
Apparently, NWS have a lot of fans over in the EU. I'm really surprised we don't have more tools like these available easily here in the states.

Hard to believe that 20 years ago the Internet was still a pipe dream.
Wonder what we'll be looking at in another 20 years.
-
Around here people build them on the side of the hill.
Hills are meant for loading ATVs in pick up trucks, you cant' use them for that.

I get that message half the time I try to post a pic.
A lot of Image hosts have an extension of .html or .com I don't think the IP board forum likes that.

Whatever floats your boat. Life is only perspective after all.
Yeah, whatever

Remember the Ginsu commercials where they'd cut the brick and then slice a tomato?
This shovels just as good, it cuts potatoes and steel pipe and can dig holes, lets se that puny knife do that.

DIY car lift. Looks like fun.

Looks like Facom re-brands their auto locking pliers from C.H. Hanson as well. I wonder if the T5s are re-branded as well, and if they are, who is it that manufactures them.
-
Figures, the minute I post the next page in my search turns up just the locking pliers. The Facom T5.L from http://www.oll-tools.com/

I find the locking pliers in this set particularly interesting. From Amazon.com

I can't help but think of Wayne not being able to find anything other than Chinese roto hammers, you think him being so much closer he would have much better access than we do here.
Free trade Hmmmm...
