Hello, I have got a new Makita GA5030R angle grinder. I cut a 1 m long, 18 mm DIN rail, into 3 pieces and the metal case temperature of the gear box was about 40 C, after finishing cutting. Also, the temperature of the plastic which surrounds the motor was about 30 C, at a 26 C ambient temperature. I used a 125mm x 1.6 x 22 mm steel cutting disc. Is the gear box metal case temperature normal ?
