I just found this Stanley 120 Block plane. I have never seen one like it before. I am hoping that others can offer some insight.
It is clearly marked Stanley No 120 on the toe near the knob. The look-and-feel is very much of a standard Stanley 120 but the lever cap is flat iron with a special pivoting piece to accept the tightening wheel. I doubt that it is a ground-down knuckle cap since the lever cap is flat with no bulge.
Has anyone ever seen such a plane?
Any ideas as to the years of production?
