if anyone iss beginning woodworking and expecting to make mistakes, best is to choose some of the least expensive woods, like soft maple, poplar, pine and fir. and select wood identified above that is easy to work with and won't wear down your tools quickly.

I also wanna ask a question. It is a 15A saw & comes from the factory wired for 120V. I read simple instructions for rewiring it from here for 240V (which means it would draw 7.5A) This seems desirable to me since the greater voltage (and reduced draw) would seem to make for better performance.
What would be the drawbacks of switching it over to 240? The main issue I see is that the saw has a normal 3 prong 15A plug – while this poses no problem for wiring an outlet for 240 & plugging it in, I’d be concerned that someone might plug some other appliance into the outlet & fry their equipment – is it a simple issue of labeling the outlet as 240V? I’d wire a single dedicated outlet in this case…

Hi all!
I am building a coffee table for a client that will have a top that lifts and stays in place for working. Does anyone have any experience / recommendations for quality hardware? There are several options I’ve found online, but many with mixed reviews. It would be tough to know which one has the best functionality without buying several and testing. Thanks!

So I have this problem whenever my grinder is spinning one way it will loosen the nut in the bottom that holds the disc on, which makes sense because it's spinning the way to loosen it, but is this a common thing to happen? There's nothing I can really grab onto to counter a wrench when tightening either, any suggestions? -

@Daniel Wheeler Even your cordless Festool stuff should work. All you would need is the North American chargers and you would be set. Also on all your 110v tools with the removable plug you should be able to buy a North American plug. You shouldn't need adapters then. Your 220v stuff will need other solutions that others have suggested above. Festool should be able to confirm everything you need.
I like this suggestion,
