  1. Pretty awesome bit of kit...works surprisingly well, especially for adhesives!
  2. I've had a bit of fun, doing 12 days of "casemass" aka Christmas...basically, grabbing one case out of my workbench and showing the interesting tools inside, how they work, what they're for, etc. First day is here, a snapon set: https://youtu.be/XJRnO7yC3po I'm particularly proud of the intro/outro's for it, so at least watch that lol
  3. You should, there's a few good techniques in there!
  4. Just a few ideas that aren't your usual screwdrivers and cordless drill
  5. Did a quick review on the Gearwrench Ratcheting Screwdriver Set...which is fine itself but what the heck is up with the case? Anyone else here have one of these sets and know why it's so much worse than usual?
  6. And here's the promised tool bag rundown:
  7. I do try to keep things organized, only way to make efficient use of the little space I have. I have some pliers racks (I used them on my vise grips), might have to take another shot at standing them up.
  8. You guys will probably enjoy this: Any suggestions on more efficient use of space or better organization?
  9. Almost like it might wera in...lol get it lol
  10. So I recently picked up a Wera Kraftform Kompact bit driver. It's pretty nice, but I find the collar that releases the hex shaft to be REALLY stiff. For anyone that has one, is this normal? I also did a quick two minute video of it, if you want to see what it's all about and how stiff it is too, see above.
  11. At least when it comes to grinders...it's actually a bit of an interesting result: I know it's not Tuesday, so technically not a Tool Test Tuesday video, but this is one I've wanted to do (and have been promising) for a while as I've never seen anyone comparing such different grinders against each other. Not exactly the results I expected, somewhat, but power has a bigger impact than wheel size from what I saw. The DWE4597 7" grinder is an absolute beast Though, funny, the littlest/slowest grinder in this test is the one I use the most...reason being? It's easier to control and get a nice clean grind with. Let me know what you think, what do you guys all use for grinders?
  12. Probably meant for use in a milling machine with a collet rather than a drill chuck. You can buy JT4 sized chucks in 3/4" too.
  13. Even though I knew it wasn't supposed to work, I decided to try it anyway and a few other things...turned out to be pretty interesting:
  14. Just barely still Tuesday, but we have a Tool Test none the less: Honestly, these are by far the best portable table saw out there...the fence just works, tons of power, doesn't bind up, just works.
  15. Who would have thought Gearwrench could be better (at some things) than Knipex or Channellock? Overall though, channellock is probably the best all around pliers IMO but the other ones are interesting.
  16. I'm still finding stuff. Not a tool but literally today I got a $3065 JBL VRX918SP subwoofer (it's a pro audio sub, I do live sound on the side) for $1460 (Canadian Dollars). I had followed it for a week and was dropping $80/day roughly, finally bit on it when it got below half price. Cost on these is $2000+ so it's definitely a loss for amazon and a gain for me I also have recently picked up a Nicholson file for $6.98 when they're regular $15-20, not a sale, clearing out one model. I've also had a few Mitutoyo deals over the last year, $150 dollar measuring instruments for $50-60.
  17. This actually works pretty well, I've gotten some crazy good deals on new name brand stuff this way before, so thought I'd share:
  18. For sure, cordless stuff has come such a long ways in the last 10 years or so that a lot of my air stuff sits unless I "need" it.
  19. Is a decent little thing, especially like how quiet it is but it's not that gutsy. Also, not often I'm grabbing an air ratchet anymore, so that hurt its score a bit too in the usefulness category.
  20. This has to be one of my most favorite tools in the garage, I pretty much grab it every time I'm out there.
  21. Friend of mine has an older British sound console with reconfigurable modules that doesn't take standard sized rack panels. He wanted a blanking panel, so asked if I could whip something up for him. Here's the afternoon build: https://youtu.be/m9tjyQxeXBk
  22. Absolutely love this thing...it cuts metal like buttttter
  23. Yeah, as with any brands, they do OEM for others...just like Lisle or Irwin or Ingersoll Rand or whoever.
  24. That's only chlorinated brake clean and argon, but never trust the label...brake clean and welding are a no-no. The zinc in galvanizing is not good for your health at all (poisons you but basically makes you feel like you have the flu) and grinding it off will just make a mess of the surface. I'd honestly just grab a piece of plate steel to put on top, even 1/8-3/16" thick will work.
  25. Yea same here. I've vfilmed myself doing work but I show no interest in explaining how to do it lol. It seems like a lot of work. It can be a fair bit of work...especially if the video part doesn't interest you. I just started a YouTube channel a month ago for my garage stuff and it's been kind of interesting just learning how to do it. I started it more to pick up some extra skills (presenting/talking, video editing, etc.) and because I'm always doing something in the garage anyway each week. My channel is here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBwA36YGRBRyjJd-ZZM7qLw If you're looking for good free video editing software, Davinci Resolve has a fully featured free version that is as good as any other editor out there (e.g. Adobe) but does have a bit of a learning curve. That's what I've been using to edit my videos and I haven't even scratched the surface of what it can do yet.
