  1. Thanks for the info Jim. You confirmed my hunch that mine wasn’t unique and I just put the info out there for those individuals who are paranoid, like myself, about getting their mowers stolen.
  2. I bought my RM480e @ HD back in Sept 2018 as a refurb. Between this forum and YouTube I learned how to do al lot to this mower (new batteries, new transaxle fluid, align and lube the steering, and the meter mod). But thru all this I found a quirk in the key switch on my mower (and curious if all RM480’s are like this). Seems I didn’t need the key to turn the unit to the “on” position- anything that would grab the keyhole (such as a slotted screwdriver) could turn the switch. The key was only needed to turn the switch to the “AUX” position (which has nothing connected to it). I got a new switch from Ryobi and it did the same thing. My fix was to move the two wires from one side of the switch (the white “ON” position) to the other side (the grey “AUX” side). Then I re-labeled “ON” to “AUX” and “AUX” to “ON”. I alerted Ryobi on this quirk but have yet to hear anything back from them. Just curious if there are any more 480e’s like this.
