  1. Hi all, Not sure if this is the correct place to post (new member), I have an older tablesaw (Jet, 1997 model) with a 1.5HP single phase, 120/240V (currently/originally wired 120), 18/9A, 3450RPM motor. Will not start. I have replaced the start capacitor and the thermal overload switch, with same value components. Currently nothing happens. No noise, hum, etc. When this started happening, I would hit the power switch and would usually get a slight pulse/bump where it appeared the motor was going to start but did not (could hear and physically tell the motor "jumped") After about 10-15 times it no longer did that, so I suspected capacitor. Other things I did: - carefully blow out dust from motor, switch and thermal overload enclosure - take front power switch apart to check connections - verified motor shaft turns easily , not bound up What would you check, suspect or try next ? Thinking about yanking motor and and hooking up to a different switch and directly to power sans all the other stuff... Any ideas greatly appreciated!
