  1. I have an old Performax 16-32 drum sander that was in a fire. It didn’t burn, but had smoke and water damage and some heat damage. It seems to work fine, but I get a weak shock when it runs. The open circuit is 120 volts and about 3 amps on a meter. I have taken it apart and tested as follows: Unplugged the drum motor and plugged it into power and no voltage measured across the machine, so I don’t believe that’s the problem. I checked the receptacle where the drum motor plugs in and is fine, no melting and no loose wires. I did not see any melted or bare wires inside the control housing and power cord. The conveyor motor is a 90-volt DC motor, it runs fine and adjusts speed when the potentiometer dial is turned. Not sure how to test the DC motor or the potentiometer dial. There is a Jet replacement, just pricy ($$$). Any suggestions how to proceed to narrow down what's causinf the shock?
