  1. I have had the same problem now with two Dewalt 21.5 inch max self-propelled electric mowers within about 12 months. They each worked good for a few months; however, now it starts and runs for a few minutes, then suddenly shuts down. It also seems like it is increasing and decreasing power erratically, rather than only when it is under load (like when hitting tall grass or when you engage self-propelled) before it shuts down. When this happened on both mowers, I noticed blade was bent and put on a new blade. I thought there might be a sensor that felt it was out of balance, yet both times the same problem continued. I purchased the original mower at Home Depot in Huntsville TX last spring, and by fall it was broken. When the original mower broke, I contacted Home Depot and they changed it out for me but let me know it was a one-time deal. I have looked all over the internet for a solution and can't really find anyone that talks about a fix to the problem I am having, which seems odd since I have had same exact problem on two different mowers in one year. I live pretty rural and the closest place that works on DeWalt is like an hour and half away, as Houston TX and Bryan TX where I see service centers are both that far from me. I also called the one in Houston and they said they don't do the mowers. I am pretty handy and if it were a Briggs and Stratton engine I could tear it down and rebuilt it if I had to, but I have no clue how to resolve this electric mower issue. I can't find a repair manual anywhere though I did find the part breakdowns at toolservice.com. Anyone know what would cause this issue so I can repair it?
