Please define more of what it is you are trying to do bud,the way you worded your question makes it a little tough to steer you to the proper direction. To cover most types of materials hard to go wrong with Diablo blades. if you are trying to cut masonry or something, you gotta have a diamond abrasive blade.
jeffmcmillan
An old one. The thing stopping you from cutting random stuff with any blade is potential damage to the blade. If you don't care about the blade it doesn't matter. Also worth noting you can't just slap a ferrous blade on a regular circular saw, they're designed for metal cutting saws with lower speed and higher torque so you'll chip teeth the same as a wood blade albeit a bit slower if you try to cut metal with one in a circular saw. In some cases you can get around that by using an undersized blade to reduce effective speed. Conversely you can use some wood blades on a metal cutting saw without too much trouble.
