SetBuilder
I thought I would put this up here... When I was renovating my current house which is a 1914 Craftsman, I decided to make my own windows. Most woodworkers I talked to said I was nuts. But I plowed ahead and learned a lot along the way. Here are some pics.
SetBuilder
One of the big pains in working with sash weights was, since the old double hung windows were single pane. Most of the sash weights I could find locally were in the 5-8lb range I had to make my own since I was using double pane glass. I used fence pipe and melted lead into them with an eye hook on the end. The whole process was an ordeal, but the finish product was so worth it IMO.
JMG
One of the better jobs I ever locked down was making replacement sash windows for a railroad headquarters. I wanted to use double pane glass, but the specifications were held to hysterical society rules and single pane glass. I think I got a case of carpal tunnel from all of that glazing putty. I applaud you for your efforts in the school of old...
