Wlkes
Hi guys and gals, not sure if anyone has asked this before, I used to have a DeWalt dw717xps mitre saw that got stolen, on the top it said it was a type 2, I have replaced the saw with the same model and now on the top it says it is a type 4. is there any changes between these two saws as I cannot see any. Does the 'type' just refer to a manufacturing detail?many thanks.
Alan m
i would assume that each type is an improvement on the previous type. they probably fixed small issues inside
Nordraw
Bigger is better they say. I would be happy with the fact that it's a new one and most likely has some improvements to it. How did it get stolen? Out of your garage or on the job site?
chadlanthier
Not sure but that would be my guess, also wonder if it has something with year to year production.
DR99
Some times between the types the tool is decontented. I know one of the miters saws you can't add the XPS light on certain types. For the most part though I think its if the tool has been updated but Dewalt doesn't want to put out a new model no either.
Kenneth Denmark
If we update a product, we change the type. Because on a update there will offend be new sparepart, and if you guys order a part it has to fit the product.. Right
