You can get killer deals on 7 1/4 inch blades not so much on the 6 1/2.

true but the blades on the wrong side for me, so the 6-1/2" will be the one

blade price isn't a factor for me either. if the blade was on the left side on the 7-1/4 id maybe consider it but I will not buy that saw for the reason that the blades the wrong way. I'm leaning toward the fuel.. I already have a 4 piece kit, 3 3.0ah batteries, and a 1.5ah for my flash light. I have a couple other compacts but those stay with another cheaper m18 drill driver kit for home projects.

  2. Hey Gang,

I am planning on buying a cordless circ saw for my kit and am debating between the 6-1/2" fuel saw, and the standard Milwaukee brushed circular saw.

aside from the increased performance from the fuel, the rafter hook is quite appealing.. I'm not sure if that's going to be overkill for my needs, plus here in Canada I believe the price difference is about 100 bucks, and well for that much I could go buy myself another tool ;)

for those of you who have each of these saws what are your thoughts? do you regret your purchase and wish you went the other way?

Yes but think about it, with a 19% interest rate, that interest racks up quickly. And, if you make the mistake of making minimum payments, you will suffer that interest severely. I don't recommend using credit. If you absolutely have to have the tool right now because its a need and not a want, then I recommend getting a low interest loan with your local credit union. If your credit is really good, you can get interest rates around 9.5% to 12% APR.

Otherwise, just save up and buy it when you got the money. But please for the love of everything holy, don't use credit!

You can efficiently and safely use your credit card for purchases. I don't buy something unless I have the money. frequent purchases like gas, and groceries have the highest return for points. I typically use my credit card for gas, and pay it off the next day. No worries of the interest rate as long as you paying off on time, or in my case right away. Now, I don't personally enjoy using my credit card.. but I am young and establishing my own credit rating so when it comes time to take out a loan for a newer vehicle, or buying a house I have an established, and excellent credit rating.

  4. I currently have an estwing, but I like the hatchet style handle, and my hammer is a singer which Is really annoying to use. I realize that the high velocity thing is just a marketing ploy. force=mass x acceleration. the lighter mass allows for your higher velocity. I would have to get a smooth face as I don't just frame so the waffle face wouldn't be advantageous for me

  5. Does anyone have a dewalt high velocity hammer?? I've been wanting to buy one for  ages but just have had a hard time justifying it.. Curious of everyone's thoughts on them and if you've had any experience with them.. They go on sale semi regularly around here so if I ever snag one It'll be on sale. Stilettos are just a little too pricey for me ;)

    cheers

  6. Being able to remove sleeves from a jacket to make it into a vest is a great idea, however the zippers in sleeves can be quite a nuisance. If you work in construction and find yourself carrying lumber (or anything) on your shoulder, the zippers dig into your shoulder so keep that in mind when deciding

    Cheers

  7. Did anyone watch the stream on the new product symposium? Sadly I missed it! I saw the video ipon their new lights. They look pretty slick! Was there a nail gun of any kind? I'd love to see a list of the new tools they've come out with

  8. I'm well aware it's a bare tool. I already have a few other Milwaukee tools including a 4 piece kit so the batteries isn't an issue. I think the bare tool would be the most economical way to go, I mean I could buy the circ saw kit for more money then I bought my 4 piece kit for. I'm not totally sure I could justify the fuel saw. I mean I'd love to get the 7 1/4 fuel, but the blade is on the wrong side..
