I've seen several mentions saying "tell you more in August" which is hopefully not the case.

Definitely weighs more than a hammer drill, but for the job it does carrying it is sure better than the alternative.

Wouldn't be surprised to see these batteries costing $200 here in Canada at first. Regular price for 4.0 and 5.0 is 139.99, can be found for 100. My regular retailer also told me prices got raised last spring due to falling dollar, and have noticed it at HD etc. That said I would still rather have a mix of compacts, 5.0 and a 9.0 than the half dozen 4.0 I currently have.

Well now that we know a bit more I can add this to the list. Luckily this years event isn't hurting my budget too badly. They do have some compelling products though. Luckily I'm not a plumber (or I would have a reason to spend way more money this year).

I would love one or two or my grinder and saws but I would be lying if I said I would rather have this than a pair of 5.0s for my drills and impacts. I want to carry less weight wherever possible, not more. I would rather swap batteries at lunch than have one last me all day. 4.0s last me all day as it is.This thing is a bomb. Any one thinking about 5.0s or 6.0s any more?

I hope it isn't just a wireless tag-out feature, although that will save me money. I'm seeing a few sources on twitter feeds say that they'll tell us more about One Key in August. Tomorrow better be nonstop cordless goodness.

I have the M12 Fuel and M18 Fuel impact drivers. For it's cost and size, the M12 is a fantastic tool. That said, there's not much difference in sizes for impact drivers so you really have to look at systems as a whole. Now that M12 has a circ saw I really think it is the ultimate homeowner system.

Interesting. From what I know a lot of press got a weird USB thumb drive from Milwaukee with a cryptic message about this years symposium unlocking the future of power tools or something. Can't quite recall, but I'm definitely curious. Hopefully more interesting than Dewalt Bluetooth batteries.

I'm not too sure on the differences etc. but for size the tools you are using will say what their CFM rating is so you just want to add that up and get a compressor that can keep up. You don't want to be waiting on it to pressure up, or lose power in use. I use a compressor at work every day and losing pressure is a huge pita. I use a screw compressor now and have endless power.

Oh I agree TO. The saddest part is its hard to appreciate the little moments and downtime when there's no up time. The balance of knowing you've accomplished something meaningful in a day, and being able to appreciate winding down w loved ones at the end of a long day is something I wouldn't trade, and you don't get to experience it if you don't get off the couch in the first place.

Wow...when Makita says they have the deepest lineup they mean it. They really have something for everyone.

Makita isn't a brand I put much stock in previously, but seeing them in action at work and coming to realize the breadth of their product line does instill a tinge of jealousy. I don't need a coffee maker but could use a chainsaw a lot more than I could use a $3000 (Canadian) cordless mag drill kit (though I'm glad it exists for the guys that need it).

Hey now, can't be on the job site all the time Toronto, I've been known to play some video games in my downtime and don't feel lazy when I'm busting hump on the job site haha! Thanks for posting the video, love seeing how things were done in the past. Something about knowing where you came from that makes you feel confident in where you're going.That video is badass those loggers are crazy the way men worked back in the old times is awsome no lazy video game playing "man" just real hard working get the job done man i respect that so much

Life of a contractor for sure. The sweater doesn't see much use lately here either, been on a roof for 3 weeks, and now interior of a 6 story renovation of a 100 year old commercial space. Hot and muggy, yet smells so stale inside.Man. This heated jacket talk is killing me. It was 90 and super humid today where I am. hot and nasty weather, working outside all day was no fun at all

I am disappointed I haven't seen any modular storage system from them. I don't want more Dewalt boxes. Also disappointed that a chunk of what we've seen for Fuel are updates of existing Fuel tools, ie drill/driver, grinder, impact driver, the Super Hawg they promised at last years event. That said more is always better and down the road maybe I'll upgrade.
I am excited to see the new lights, the new 9.0 battery, the planer, miter saw, etc.. A surprising amount of hand tools have me excited, including the adjustable length pipe wrench. Lots to be excited about but my biggest interest going in was One Key and we learned nothing other than "keep waiting". Overall though, there's plenty shown for me to blow cash on.
