  1. That Dewalt 20v D handle is prehistoric. I’ve got a brushless barrel Makita and I’m not opposed to waiting for Dewalt to get with the times.

Buying a jigsaw for someone else; buy the best one that works with the platforms they’re in, or buy a corded model.

Ya don't say! I would like to see that!

must come bundled with a new jigsaw that cuts with a laser for a blade and batteries that are powered by carbide cells. Super comfortable with its magnesium handle, plus cuts are smooth because the shoe has a rubber overmold for grip and surface protection.

    Much better than Makita...

  3. The heated gear is reasonable; I have 3 heated hoodies that I wear on low with a work jacket overtop to break the wind. I’m happy with them for what they are. Compact 3.0 would likely get good mileage, I find the 2.0s decent.

I gifted a heated hoodie to my dad and got him the handwarmer as well; he uses it ice fishing, etc. and likes it well enough.

  4. A good fence is the most important aspect of a saw to me, and that eliminates the Bosch imo. We had a 4100 at work and no one liked it, it has to be squared up on both front and back of the blade. Dewalt’s rack and pinion fence is rock solid by comparison and you can get them pretty cheap. I could get 2 decent Dewalt saws for the price of that Bosch in my neck of the woods. $300 usd is overpaying for that saw. Maybe we are just abusive to tools

(I don’t think so in comparison to any other place I’ve worked) but we even managed to kill the blade height adjustment mechanism.

If youre looking into your first saw you want a rock solid fence so you don’t encourage pinching stock between the blade and fence, and you want an instruction manual. Table saws are one of the most dangerous tools in the shop.

Pretty pumped to see that update. I’m sure many will be pleased to be able to fire full head nails out of a Dewalt with this thing though. Code doesn’t care about clipped here though; we don’t have to batten down the hatches on a regular basis.

  6. It’s been mentioned here and there on the internet for weeks if not months by people who are well connected that a cordless router is coming. That’s been in many responses to complaints of a nice teal router with no yellow alternative.

10” 60v mitre and 10” 120v hybrid table saw are both dead in the water from what I’ve read due to new regulations on table size for both tools relative to blade size. A 10” would be a full size table saw rather than a 10” compact and the regulations are why the cordless 10”’ Makita is a fat pig like the FlexVolt lol.

  7. Hopefully the big surprise isn’t the cordless router that seems to be an open secret.

12 ah kits will be nice.

That alleged shop vac better be 120v Max and use the mitre adapter now that the dream of a table saw seems to have gotten the Old Yeller treatment.

Sorry, I’m not fully understanding you. Are you saying if I buy from a larger retailer on eBay, new, that the serial number will be in dewalts system and I’m good to go?

Yes. The serial number on the tool includes a manufactured date that’s generally the week and year ie 4617 or something like that. I rarely keep receipts because I only lose a few months of warranty. Receipts are more important to me on Dewalt and Makita because of 3 year warranty rather than Milwaukee with 5.

  9. OP means “finally in USA” I’m assuming. They’ve been in Canada for ages and plenty of Americans imported them from here.

I picked one up for a good deal months ago and still haven’t used it lol. Then the M18 version was announced which would realistically suit me a little better.

Picked up a 2860 mid-torque impact today.  I'll likely pick up the M12 ratchets as well as the M18 Fuel 3/8" impact soon enough to complete my cordless automotive setup.

Also, found 14 Metabo Combinator cutoff wheels for $.38 each at Lowe's.  Coupled with the DeWalt grinding discs I grabbed on clearance last year, I should be set for cutting and grinding for a while.

Nicely done! I’ve been wondering if I shouldn’t just grab a 2860 as well; it’s so much cheaper than a 2861. Dewalt pricing is the same way; pin detents must be selling like crap.
