  1. What a sweet deal on a very good jointer. I think we have the same one in our shop, it's a Delta for sure. Only problem we had was with the on/off switch which was easily replaced. It's a real workhorse, as are most tools that are made back in the day. Seems like we live in a throwaway culture lately. Nice to get tools that can be passed down for generations! congrats

  2. Buddy the mag 77 are nice very light but you gotta be a little more delicate with them there not as tough as the old skills have you tried or heard of makita hypoid saws there great and powerful bassically same as a wormdrive but more efficient

Yeah I just recently caught wind of the Makita Hypoid Saws. They look pretty good, I'm gonna check out some reviews on them. I know that AvE dude on YouTube took that saw apart.

  3. not sure if the brushless motors from Milwaukee use Hall sensors such as Aveox or Maxcim the magnets could interfere with the proper operation of those if the magnet is to close and or to strong a field ....I would be cautious

Very good point Comp! I was kind of weary about this. I should include a "proceed at your own risk" lol.

  4. Are those the Skil 77 Magnesium saws? How do you like them? I have a really old Skill worm drive that has seen better day's. I'm thinking about getting the Skil or the Bosch worm drive saw and retire the old one

  5. Make use of your old computer hard drive by salvaging the magnets inside.

The magnets are very strong, and can be used for many projects.

I hot glue the magnets to my drills. It makes for a nice place to hold screws and bits.

When I'm done with the drill, I can simply stick it to a metal cabinet.

Step 1: Find an Old PC Hard Drive.

Step 2: Open it up. You will need some small screw drivers. In many cases a Torx T9 will be needed.

Don't forget about the often hidden screw.

Step 3: Once open, remove all the screws that you see. All hard drives will look similar to the one pictured here.

It looks similar to an old record player/turntable. The large circular plate makes a good shop mirror.

The part attached to the swing arm are the magnets. There will be two (2) magnets that can be salvaged from every hard drive.

  6. Little Update:

Still waiting to hear from the IBEW. In the meantime, I went ahead and applied for the Carpenters Union as well. I took the test (passed with a 100%, something I have never done before lol) and passed the interview. Now I go back for a 3 day screening to weed out the guys that just want a job.

  7. Cordless Conduit Bender:

How amazing would it be if you could just dial in an angle and have the machine bend it for you. This is one tool that I would imagine Milwaukee making in the future.

    Pop Rivet Gun:

I agree with Eric, this would awesome. It would have to be able to fit in tight places. I would definitely pick this up if someone made it.

    Cordless Caulking Gun:

I might be wrong, but I think I over heard Dan mention that he wanted a cordless caulking gun.

Milwaukee makes a cordless caulking that runs on the M12 and M18 platform. Click Here

    Cordless Worm Drive Circular Saw:

I don't think there is a huge need for this, but I would be amazed if this was ever made.

    Cordless Table Saw:

I guess you could screw your cordless saw to a piece of ply and flip that sucker over

  8. I love the DeWalt TStak system. I have both the shallow and deep drawers. I'm currently using the deep drawers for holding screws. I use the shallow drawers for screw drivers. Never had a problem yet with either of them.

  9. You are reading it wrong, the #1 Phillips is an "x" , while the #2 is a "+" .

    Hope that helps!

You forgot to mention about the Flat Heads:

    Capital "I" for a #2

    Minus "-" symbol for a #1

  10. Thank you TIA Crew for all the words of encouragement. I took the test today. I feel fairly confident that I did well, but only time will tell. Now I can sit back, relax and wait for a notice from the IBEW. In the meantime, ill be active on this forum again
