great work nalu! naturally we all want some, and I know I would take about 7 Milwaukee ones, actually if you were thinking about another, Ridgid would be nice if you were to sell them.... id take a few of those too! haha

I don't think I would ever want to live in a home that wasn't 2x construction... ive dealt with the flimsy steel studs up here and they say the don't bend and they say the are strong but let me tell you, they do and they aren't... you cant attach a sheet of drywall to them, you cant hang anything remotely heavy on a wall because the only thing to use is plugs in the drywall... theres no way I would ever buy one.
ill build my own if that was my only option. luckily the termites here are few and far between, and there are very few tornadoes (yes the ones you guys call a windy day) lol so wood for the house and I would brick the outside. if I lived in a rural area I would double brick and insulate the crap out of her.

I agree with you on the bad tear out but I use them for electrical rough so no problem there
then you have the best bits! I assume you have a nice big 18" ship auger bit too?

It looks really good, I love those Daredevil spade bits I drilled maybe a hundred holes with 7/8" the other day with no problem.
the bits are never the issue with drilling holes its finding the right drill to get 100 holes out of say 1 battery.
I find the bits to do well in certain situations, I would use them for rough framing where a fairly clean hole isn't needed because I do find the tear out from them to be rather excessive. however they get the job done quick

ive always been interested in the "dream shop" of people. I mean I don't think there is a perfect way to set it up. however my shop would definitely have an open area at least 16x16 for assembly since I enjoy building sheds and stuff. however there isn't always room for that stuff so I would have a full size table saw with a mitre station and a router station, a nice open area to plan 12' boards. a lumber rack would come in handy however im not sure what else id need yet because I know I wont have the time, money or space to set one up. I do a lot more on-site work anyhow so my dream shop might end up being a work trailer maybe a 7x14 tandem axle bumper pull? with some ideas from Ron Paulk and his mobile set ups he has videos of on youtube. I look forward to seeing the plans of yours first and then pictures of the process if you can.

that's a sweet deal I would put that on par with my Milwaukee M12 sub scanner I bought for $70 original is $250. it wasn't even a sale HD just screwed up on the price for about a 2 week span then they got wise to it and changed the prices back before my buddy could get one

guess im the only weird guy on here that plays farming simulator 2015 on my 360.. or the only one not ashamed to admit it.
I live in the city but have family with farms so I get my fill when I can. loved the life just never saw the career in it just yet...
however I do play the standards like nhl and "COD" however farming is something I play most often to kill a rainy day

my boss always tells me you don't know nothing till your 30 that's when the brain kicks in and you really start to understand life and work. so you have more life experience than that highschool kid in more than just work. you have it in life experience which lately around here is the best way to get the job you want. im 21 (in a week) and ill tell you that I have found a career path for myself however I wont be able to start my own business for another 3 years or so because I know im too naïve to make it a successful sustainable thing. I also do not know enough yet. ive been in the trades for 3 years full time and another year and half part time through highschool co-ops and I can tell you that everything I have learned has never led my astray but I have also forgot to use everything I have learned and its cost time and a hit to my pride.
I would never tell someone they are too old to make a positive change. if its what you have a passion for I cant see any reason why you couldn't do it. some people have a knack for the trade and others struggle but ive seen some shotty work, just take pride and the rest will come.

I was looking at the dolly style rolair... cant recall the model but if I use a compressor its either in the shop or on a fair sized job. so I like the size/portability of the dolly style. and I know it should be more than capable of producing the CFM I need and might need in the future. the JC10 is a "small" one right? 5 gal?

I would suggest 1 extra battery over the amount of tools you have. so basic maths 2 tools- 3 batteries, 3 tools- 4 batteries and so on...
however with that being said make sure the batteries are equal to the battery consumption, for example I spent half a day with a 2.0 battery on my impact and I set around 300 3" deck screws on that battery on a fairly regular pace. but if I had say the grinder or circ saw I would up the battery to the 4.0 for arguments sake.
I also use my drill for mixing tile glue. we use old drywall mud buckets so half a bag of mix I think its around a 3 gal bucket? don't hold me to that measurement though lol. anyway on the same 2.0 battery I can make 2.5 buckets fully mixed. if I had a 4.0 I would hazard to guess I get 5 buckets right? its all how you use the tools and like ChrisK said, he never has an issue because he uses them more for DIY or woodwork. if you use them for anything more just be cautious.

depends on what batteries you have and what comes in the kit. for both I would say you want 4.0+ Ah battery since they drain faster than you may think. so if you have some 4.0 batteries and don't use all the tools all at the same time and can wait for the recharge then bare tools would save some coin. also if you are really ambitious you can buy the bare tools for now and wait for the new 9.0 battery and just keep one battery with each tool in a case and be fine? I think its up to you but the only way I would personally buy a bare tool is if I had enough batteries to use the tools I need when I need them. currently I only have 2 2.0 batteries and I find im looking for a charged battery once a day. ive been torn between the XC or the 4.0 battery right now but I have also been thinking of adding the fuel circ saw so I might be better off waiting for the 9.0 to come out and see the pricing.

I would assume they are sending a gen 1 fuel kit? it would be a really sweet UTBG if they sipped the gen 2 fuel stuff (not sure if the sawzall was updated)

maybe this tool bag could be a themed package? I was thinking plumbers basics or electrical basics? maybe a very basic framer/ carpenter bag?

so I glanced quickly through the 3 pages to see if any other Canadian has posted. and id love to post a link here with a country song but im not in the modd to search for it then figure out how to attach it. however I will say I have been drinking PBR (pabst blue ribbon) lately and that's been going down smooth. I used to drink Bud and I still will at a bar if that's on tap. I do like my Richards Red, and even james ready 5.5
back to that song, if you are familiar with it great if not, I hope theres no hard feelings....

And Madman_us, sketch up is a sweet program ive used it more than a couple dozen times and its great for many things I know I have yet to reach even half the potential that it has but from what I know its helped on numerous projects I did with no prior experience with. (my wine rack I used sketch up to help my design and get the right angles and measurements pictures are on a thread in woodworking)

I was a fan of Calgary for a while because of the way phanuef hit and iggy played, then they trade them off and I am either a bruins (for a short time) or a leafs fan. so naturally I quick cheering altogether, however I do enjoy watching Colorado play they have a great young team and I do like Chicago and Detroit. however I do not have any team I bleed for anymore seeing as not too many teams have dynasty players that I like. being from Canada I can proudly say I hate "cry"sby and I know ove is a great player, I cant wrap my head around why they haven't made it to the playoffs in a while.
with all that said, I am a fan of certain players, datsyuk, nash, iggy, duchane. to name a few. hope I don't piss anyone off by stating my opinions lol

I thought the jobmax was handy when I hadn't used anything else. My 110v one would act weird sometimes too. It would fluctuate speed without adjusting the trigger. It was when I got the Bosch I realized how much difference there was. I feel like if you could use the Bosch MX30 on a couple cuts you might have a different opinion. I'm not trying to say the jobmax is useless. I'm just saying there is a huge difference between it and some of the newer dedicated multi tools. I think of it like comparing an 12v NiCd Black & Decker 3/8" drill to a M18 Fuel 2604 hammer drill.
I use my jobmax more for the jigsaw lately, that's why I have had issues, the multi-tool works well for me, and you are right if I bought I dedicated model I would probably be saying the same as you. but from where I stand right now the jobmax is serving its purpose well enough for when I need the tool in a pinch. I knew it wasn't going to be the greatest tool and I wasn't expecting much but with that said it has out-performed from my expectations and I find it to be great for the simple fact it is more versatile than a dedicated multi-tool. that's all I was trying to say about it I guess lol

Milwaukee shockwave bits I agree suck. they don't last near as long as most bits. that being said I have jumped into the mastercraft maximum bits (Canadian tire brand) and they have held up wonderfully, I had one bit sink well over 1000 screws and I just threw it out the other day because it stripped 2 screws on me, 1 of which was my bad I had the bit and screw at different angles and the inevitable happened faster than I could correct it.
also I have that jobmax which was said to be "not as great as other options" which I could agree with however I haven't tried any of the others the reason I got it was because of the multi-head design. I picked up the 12v and I find that with the vibration the battery might rattle a little loose? I have to play with the thing to get it running sometimes and other times I think I might have a dead battery when all the sudden it pops back to life and works fine. so depending on why you need the multi-tool, the jobmax is good at being versatile however not the best in any of its designs when compared to a model designed for 1 specific purpose. so multi uses I recommend.
other than that I was disappointed with hitachi drills, however it was about 5 years ago when I bought it I got it for a sweet price and I hated the thing from day 1, HUGE handle and not enough power with the 18v nib battery made it bigger than most newer drills. other than that I just use trial and error, cordless tools I recommend a platform that has everything you need plus things you may need in the future. but the first 2 I look at now are Milwaukee and then Makita.
hope that helps (giving boths sides to that jobmax is good because some people loves tools that most people hate)

I think I would still prefer the counter sink and dowel method. if the chiselled piece isn't exactly squared or chips out and you "lose a piece" as he said then what do you do with a finished board that cant be fixed because the chisel snapped the piece? it is neat however the dowel method leaves a more appealing (to me) finish. maybe im crazy?

I think it would be pretty cool if they came out with a router that could run off the 9.0 battery for a day and they use all the apps you guys have been talking about to do all that stuff without power?
