My Dad is an electronic technician, grew up watching him soldering regularly. One thing he always points out to me about a nice iron is when it comes with a stand and variable power control. Due to this I kind of like the Weller WLC100, which fits my needs more as a DIY and someone that doesn't solder constantly. It's just nice to adjust the amount of power you need and have somewhere to set the iron without having to worry about burning a table or what not. The other thing I like is how there is a place built in for the sponge cleaning pad.

Forum give away is awesome, I know we all really want TIA in to succeed at every opportunity. I am hoping I can contribute more myself here soon as I continue getting better with my health. I have some awesome projects that are kind of on hold for now.

Buying in bulk helps out a lot, I should do it more myself.
The only piece of yard equipment I own that's gas powered is my lawn mower itself. I don't have an ethanol free gas station close to me at all. What I do is always run high grade if I get it from the pump at the gas station. The other thing I do is run a bottle of trufuel through it every month or so hoping it helps clean some of that ethanol out of the system.

Never really heard of it snowing in Australia, than again I've never been.
Where I live it's just humid all year long. It's either hot and humid or cold and humid and both really suck. We joke at work that we only have 2 seasons summer and winter. But when you work on the water and everything around you is either steel or masonry, it's kind of self explanatory.
I got a good laugh about 4 years ago when my brother in-law and sister in-law came down from Wisconsin during the winter. They usually have those temperatures like you get richwood, the -40 windchill and what not. Well they are down here during February freezing their tushes off. I think it was the humid air that was getting to them.

Man I am really sorry to hear that, no fun. I really need to get up and do some repairs to my gutters on the back of my house. Think that's going to be my project next weekend. Now, watch it rain haha

Well I chopped it all up and I think the whole thing disappeared before I even had two sandwiches.
This is how I do mine, it's a really good recipe for any of you guys that are interested in trying it.
North Carolina Pulled Pork This is the recipe I use
Rub Some Butt This is the rub I use, I get it at Lowes.
Apple Wood Chunks From Weber, I get it at Home Depot.
Pulled pork barbecue is a big thing around here and down in Carolina. I highly recommend this recipe, rub and the apple wood chunks to get that good Carolina flavor. If you go to make it, make the sauce in the recipe, just make sure you make it a day or so in advance to let all the flavors mix really good. It is truly outstanding.

There is nothing wrong with owning either or, it all depends on what you truly need and how much you can afford.
I think what's great is how you can use the same batteries for both sets. Your not regulated to owning Fuel or Non-Fuel per say. If you need that longevity of the drill you can get it in the Fuel but if you rarely use a circular saw you don't need to throw down the extra cash for the Fuel version.

Home Depot has really changed the way they operate since I left the company. When I worked there each store was kind of like it's own entity, like we could decide what products we wanted to carry in store and what we didn't. As far as mark downs went, we typically only determined damage product mark downs and the yellow tags would come out from corporate with either the regular or a reduced price. Now the managers and department heads could go into the computer and manually mark a product down to a lower price, which would reflect on the price tags when we printed them out. At my store they typically only did this when the product was slow moving to begin with and we just wanted it gone. A lot of it has to do with the store inventory and how the mark down will reflect on them.
The best example I can think of are live Christmas trees, because I worked in garden LOL. Well some of those trees die before anyone buys them, some people return them because they died in their home. As this happened, a lot of stores will go into their inventory and start adding up their losses. Well I would wait until December 26th because that's when corporate would drop the price of every tree they sell to $1.00. So lets say after I threw all my trees away my inventory says I still have 30, I write 30 off and I'm out $30 in my inventory. The guy that did it before is out hundreds of dollars because he/she doesn't know how to play the game.
That's part of the reason some of you all get the deals, some of you don't. A lot of it has to do with how that store chooses to play the game.

When I worked at Home Depot back 12 years ago the basic Husky screwdrivers were awful. Every time we tried to use one to fix something for a customer the handle would end up spinning.

A pneumatic etcher? Like a sand blaster? Do you have any pics of the etcher and the result of what it does? It sounds interesting, I am tempted to get one lol.

Similar to an electric etcher, they tend to be more powerful though. You can dig pretty deep into some steel with one.

While we're talking about truck boxes, I would really like to see some tool fights between different truck boxes. I know they aren't cheap but a lot of us depend on them and it would be nice to really see them go head to head.

Really nice box, not worth dropping over 2 grand on it though.
At that price, I'll make my own and get some real high end stainless handles and what not, LOL

I am going with the Drill / Driver, I just can't imagine having to drill and set every screw by hand.

I engrave my tools at work with a pneumatic etcher, which works out pretty good. After I etch them I usually take a paint marker and write the same information in larger letters, which is easier to see.

Really, I think the guy could make some serious YouTube money if he truly wanted to show how power tools work and how to repair them.

Ryobi makes an alright tool, it really just depends on what you require that tool to do.

Mac was slumping for awhile, but the last couple of years they have really turned things around and put some great tools to market
Glad to hear that, there are a few tools that Mac does make I am interested in picking up.

That's awesome, your only missing the boxing ring and the bell LOL.
I'd say that the DeWalt is probably the better one to go with right now. I like how it has the 8v battery and it has the gyroscopic feature.
