  1. Ok so first thoughts. I would need:

125cm disc. Anti kick back feature and low vibration features.

Variable speed would be appreciable too.

Need to be able to have several handle positions too.

Need to try the paddle switch to find out whether I would like it.

As for brands, I'd rather stick to ( not in any particular order) Metabo, Bosch, Fein, Flex.

    Lol, 125cm disk? XD

  2. I want the bench to be strong enough in the framing that I can beat the hell out of the surface- it'll be both a metalworking and woodworking bench and the goal is to have pretty much no vibrations when I'm hammering shit on an anvil or whatever else. I've used tapcons before, so Ill probably use those. Definitely not as fun as a semi auto PA gun tho XD

  3. Please understand that I am a positive person, and hardly ever say anything negative. but F**K Fastcap!!!!! and their scamming scummy products....

Thank you, finally someone who agrees! It's a bullshit site and they've bought out all the woodworking channels on YouTube for good reviews. I wouldn't trust those kiss bits for a second... Keep it simple, stupid and don't buy from those scammers. I got a free push stick from them in a promotion and its retaining magnets fell out before the first use!

I've been using these and they are really slick replaceable bits. They ain't cheap but for between 10-20 bucks you get a very precise but that you can use in standard chucks. Hope this helps - Chris

  4. I am building a new workbench that is bolted into the garage wall, and I also want to bolt it to the concrete floor. I've never done this before, so I was hoping you guys could steer me in the right direction- should I be using a powder actuated nailgun or should I use concrete floor anchors?

  5. I have no beef with Lowe's......comparing HD to Lowes, HD has a better selection of tools I buy and its 5 minutes from my home but other than that there very simular regarding everything else. One thing that does erk me about HD is every morning the I don't give a crap contractors picking up materials seem to make a mess in the lumber dept.....they go through every piece of lumber finding what they need but the stuff they don't want is just thrown back where ever, makes it tough for the next person trying to find stuff.....the plumbing dept is the same way, always a bitch trying to find different fittings as there all mixed together. People just don't give a shit. Honestly I think HD has more issues but HD has more of what I shop for so I put up with the BS.....My beef for this morning if that's what this thread is regarding :)

Ha. I don't like driving out to the HD, but I do like TTI! On the bright side, I have friends at the local true value, so I at least have Milwaukee.

  6. My first power tool that I actually owned was an old Craftsman nicad drill. Was a 12v cordless. Funny part was that it was several years old, so I would only get a few minutes of battery life per charge. I still have it, and it has really got me out of shit... When my drill died and I couldn't afford a new one immediately, I managed to hook up a 20v lion battery to it from my old drill, and got it running like a tank. Now I have my fein 18v, and obviously the old craftsman can't compete, but I've got a lot of use out of it, and still have it today. Funny to think... Four years of obsession seems like forever, but compared to most if you it's nothing. Huh.

  7. I honestly agree that HD is better, but I live in SC, and I have to drive thirty minutes to get there, vs about five for Lowes. I have never really had a bad experience at my blue flavored store, so I'm genuinely curious- what makes TIA/some of you dislike it? I know that TIA has had some issues with Lowes in the past, but what happened?
