  1. Got my new fuel sawzall today but first thing I noticed when i picked it up was all the rubber over molding is kinda loose so when u grab it u feel all the space between the tool and the rubber. Feels kinda cheap. I've used the same saw before and never noticed that. Is that normal?  On a side note, my co worker just got his 2 days ago and the first cut he made in a 2x4 it had smoke pouring out of it.

  2. There's no perfect saw. Sounds like ur looking for reasons to get the 7 1/4. If that's so then get it and enjoy. My co-worker just bought the 7 1/4 and loves it and so do I, but my preference is with the size and blade side so I ordered the 6 1/2 and am happy to say I'll be officially switched over to the red side!

  3. Sure but 1 battery costs almost what the tool does. and what good is having 1 battery when it dies. So now ur spending another $200 on batteries just to upgrade one of your (probably already existing) tools because none of your other 5+ batteries will work in it. I can see that for a big bad specialty tool but not a recip or circ saw.

  4. I'm on my 3rd kit now. Had really bad wobble with the first drill, had a weird grinding/vibrating/knocking issue with the 2nd kit with both the drill and impact, and now on to my 3rd kit I drilled 4 holes with my drill and it went unresponsive just like yours. and it wobbles...

  5. I had an XPH07 and yeah, the kick is incredible. After returning that for being a POS, I thought about getting this Mil kit, but ultimately decided on something else. Depending on how you use your drill, a broken wrist may actually be a less likely danger than a broken jaw. Doing electrical, I've gotten punched in the face by 18V batteries a number of times and the more power a drill has, the more likely you are to end up breaking your face or getting knocked off a ladder. Be careful out there.

Surprisingly this new Milwaukee kicks back less that my dcd995 did, it seemed like I had to fight that thing everyday. I wouldn't say the Milwaukee is sensitive by any means but maybe more accurately programmed? Either way I can drill an 18" auger bit thru a 16" maple log in high speed so I'm happy!
  6. For your drill to have wobble, the shaft must be seriously bent out of shape, which would be tough to do since its a 1/2 inch diameter. Thats why I say must be a manufacturing defect which should have been spotted by robotic lazers in the factory before it got sent out to the stores. Have it replaced, a drill with a wobble, is just asking for trouble.

Thanks got a new one on the way, should be here tomorrow so we'll see how it is
  7. Yea they both are actually pretty small but it adds to the surprise when u pull the trigger and see how much power they have! On week 2 now with mine and these guys are still impressing me... But... One thing I did notice is wobble in my chuck. I'm not concerned with it right now as my bits still seem to run straight enough for use but it's enough to catch your eye and notice it. Never had that with my other drills tho

  8. They may inflate numbers but one thing is for sure, every generation each brand puts out is getting stronger and stronger. So even if it's not exactly 1200 in lbs I'm happy. My older fuel took 4 years a crazy abuse doing more than I should have done with it and it's still runs like new. It may all be a market gimmick but it forces other tool companies to compete and gets us better tools, we win!

I've been using it for a week now and I believe the 1200in lbs to be true! I've never been so impressed with a drill before! I've been running all dewalt 20v for the last 3 years and after being disappointed with 2 995's I picked up this new drill
  9. yeah I hear you about the hammer drill function being used for smaller projects and holes. If I do need to drill 1/2" or 3/4" etc holes I'll just borrow the hilti from work.As for the 995 it is a great drill but I wish they would have kept the mode selector and I'm not sure why they only have 11 clutch settings. Maybe like you mentioned its not for finishing work so 20 settings aren't needed.

The 995 is great and can handle 3/4" holes all day. I liked how it's 2nd gear could handle stuff that you would have to use 1st gear on other drills. But with that said, I returned 2 995's in a month and have moved on to the new gen2 hammer drill. I can now drill those same 3/4" holes faster and in high speed. I think the 995 was a noticeable step up from my 985 despite loosing some features but this new Milwaukee drill blows them both away.
