  1. Has anyone got or used the Dws774 mitre saw ? I'm thinking of buying one for my van as I already have some Freud 216mm blades that fit it and I like the fact this saw has the sliders that go inside the body and make it compact but want some feedback on how good this saw is ?

  2. There's no reason why new impacts now can't have led's located in a few locations like a bright led at the base shinning up like a little flood light a bit like the new dewalt compact drill with the 60 lumen light and also have three led's at the top of the tool too and a switch to choose which led's you have on ?

  3. I've seen the snot beat out of some of those for a decade and never a single chuck fail.  Sometimes the bit would jam and you need to impact in reverse to break the bit free but the chuck release mechanism never jammed.

I've only had that problem when using cheap hex shank bits , I think the metal is soft and it twists slightly inside the chuck ?

  4. I think that there's an adapter you can use with the Dewalt OMT to let it use any brand blade, though I'd have to dig mine out to see if such a thing actually exists or if I'm just making $hit up. [emoji3]

Cutting a notch into a blade isn't my thing.  I'd just be too concerned that I would weaken the structure or somehow deform the attachment plate on something that's vibrating really, really fast.

My work mate has the dewalt I have the bosch and I cut a slot in the bosch ois blade but it doesn't work as the small holes in the blade don't match the shape of the dewalt !
But the dewalt does come with the adapter for using the Bosch blades it bolts on underneath he use it on his dewalt and nicks my blades

  5. Just an update on the 887 I bought , when I received it I commented on here how it wasn't as good as I thought it would be and how it was jumping out of screws as it wasn't impacting early enough and was such high rpm it didn't have the best control !
Well after 3 weeks of work it's changed totally it has bedded itself in and is a lot better , my work mate said his brushless makita was the same it took some bedding in !
So overall I'm now happier with it

  6. So are these taller or shorter than the usual jacket? They don't sell a large tall version, which is what I always wear because I hate jackets that aren't low enough to keep my beltline warm. I'm a 6'2" guy with a disproportionately long torso and short legs so coats suck. I was just going to go to xl, but there doesn't seem to be any variance in length and I don't want a baggy jacket. Anybody know where the battery is located and if it sucks on par with the M12 hoodie?

My large jacket is good length so it hangs below the waist well but I would say it's bigger in the chest area then other larger jackets I have , the battery location is in an inside pocket that runs down your left hand side between waist and rib cage and it's comfortable and even videos on YouTube have commented how the location for the battery is spot on , there is even small channels that run round the inside of the jacket so you can put a charging cable from the battery to another pocket and charge your phone which is good

I have this jacket it's great but I have noticed if I leave the battery plugged in for a week or two when I get to it it's flat ! See if you have the same problem ?

  8. well at 100% charge I heard it outputs 20v but at low charge its only 18v. Not sure how true this is.

Fresh off the charger all 18v batteries are 20v but the second you pull the trigger it drops to 18v but in America the marketing rules are not as strict as Europe so they can market them as 20v so that's why dewalt a are called 20v max because the maximum they will ever be is 20v straight off a charger !

  9. picked up a new electronic welding helmet to complement the new mig welder.....oh ya threw some TIA swag on it too....

Note: I'm not a beginner but for those that are an electronic helmet is the way to go to give you more visual control when your just starting out......

  11. Has any of you lot wall mounted your dewalt tough system boxes ? Is there brackets available for this in the UK ? I want to screw some to the rack in my van but the only brackets I can find are spare ones for the trolley !
