Cool idea would be to make battery attachment blank attachment points with a 3d printer. You could attach them to anything after that. I should actually start a business making them
Dan. He's your man, plus he's kinda addicted to that now!

Anybody have the interior dimensions for one of the toughcases? I really like your idea and want to make me a set of modular inserts. If not Dan I'm sure I can find a guy to have them printed. I'll send you a copy Jasonc for the idea and/or post the CAD file here. HD doesn't have the cases in stock. At least it'll give me one more reason to not finish my hw.

If anybody's interested I have the capability of making the cad files and will pro bono if somebody out there's got a 3D printer to test out this idea.Cool idea would be to make battery attachment blank attachment points with a 3d printer. The jackpot is going to be at least 1.3 billion and I want to know just the first tool. I know we'd all have a warehouse of every tool with that kind of funds. I ask this partially because I'm just curious and partially because I'd like to know what tools are perceived as the best of the best. The first thing I'd buy would be a 3D printer working in stainless steel.

Every day I'm more and more amazed that I still have all my fingers. I'll probably stop doing that now.

Well I guess I'll just hold the warranty to their 6ft drop rating[emoji19]

That's sweet! Right now I've been using that same driver with a 3/8 adaptor as my small impact since I really do still have to have a drill and there's not enough power. It makes 125 ft/lbs iirc (152 ish ft/lbs for gen 2) and the actual impact wrench brushed is 150ftlbs 1/2 compqct, 130 for the 3/8, 200 for the one they made for Mac tools, and then Milwaukees fuels are astep above all that. I'd like to see a step above Milwaukee because that 125 ft lbs doesn't work on a lot of fasteners but the small size can get in where the big gun can't. IMHO I think that 250 ft lbs would be just about right.A while back I swapped the chuck for a 3/8" square drive on a DCF886, thing works like a charm.

3/8 brushless impact wrench would be nice along with a right angle impact wrench. Definitely a +1 on the brushless saws and grinders. Love my yellow one but I might have to pick up a fuel if they don't get with the program.

Has anybody seen/heard of a protective boot being made for DeWalt's new brushless impact wrenches? The tool can only live through so much.

The new Metabo brushless cordless grinder 5.5ah kit. Or the Mac Tools branded Dewalt 12v Max ratchet. Or the Milwaukee right angle impact driver. Basically go to all the major tool brands websites, click on the power tools tab, go to the cordless section, and any of those would be sweet.

I'm gonna have to buy me one of those cases, I think with the way those walls are ribbed I could make a system that has interlocking bins like the Milwaukee but you can snap in batteries and chargers. Kinda like a Bosch L-boxx but more modular. So you have like a box and you have five different interchangeable units, one for a single battery, one for 2 compact batteries, one for the fast charger, one for the standard charger(charger units being equivalent to two of the standard units) and one that's just a parts bin. All of these lock together and you can just pick and choose the combinations and orientation you want to fill your case.
