  1. A lot of that stuff is very usable so it's a damn fine win!

The brushes are good, the picks are decent, cable ties are decent, magnetic bowl is great, light is good, bag is good, box cutter and tarp are good.

Tape measure is NOT good, it's off a little but good to use if you just need a ballpark.

The pliers set is very useful, they're sloppy but they work just fine. They really shine because they're easily and cheap to replace, so they're great to modify. I needed a plier that could grip onto vintage electronics knobs, I took the slip joint and ground the teeth down, opened the jaws up a little then covered the jaws in adhesive shrink wrap...works perfectly.

I've also found in testing that the multimeter, while not safe to use on high voltage, is pretty accurate.

They are the tools you let other people borrow lol. You make a good point about the modification. You’re not out much if you have to modify them

  2. Recently my area had a staples go out of business. Today I found out harbor freight is going in. The closest one to me is like 50 miles.

While I am excited there are others who aren't excited. It bothers me that they aren't. Not because they aren't excited about tools but because they don't see how it is good for jobs or revenue. The people upset se it as cheap Chinese tool and why do we need that if we have Walmart and Home Depot.

There are some things you can't get from either of the those store. I will never understand how some people think.

  3. I have not been on here much over the last couple months. I thought I'd share an update. Beginning of the year I was on a lot and I even won a kobalt 24v drill. In march I got laid off and I had a lot of free time until June. This month has been extremely busy. I started going to a trade school, I moved and I became a first time father. All very exciting and stressful.

I have been enjoying learning electrical stuff and I have been using the kobalt to put boxes on the wall and store the switches and outlets they give us to use in the bag. Here are some pictures of what I'm working on and of my daughter. 4df869cc0e48d74857a85f6c83de3a7a.jpg36ae6ef08678e087e20af1f84f23314d.jpgbb5cc5e0f835a9ef9ea2e16c39778b38.jpg
