  1. Ok it is the BJR182Z

I’ve tried diablo blades, Milwaukee blades, dewalt blades, and finally today used the original makita blades that came with the saw.

They all lock in securely I can’t pull the blades out by hand while locked and I start using it, the blades pop out. I’m going to try and clean it but, it doesn’t look dirty no paint inside the sleeve. And if it doesn’t hold the blades still I’m buying a Milwaukee fuel 18v.

  2. Bought this oh 4-5 years ago worked great till now. I’ll use it on a couple of cuts and then the blade will just pop out. I reinsert the blade, locks in couple of cuts blade pops out. Repeat. The collet is locking and holding the blade I can’t remove it without rotating the collet up to release. Does this with wood and steel. Is that collet worn out?

  3. I’ll show pictures once I start, at work sometimes we build inset cabinets with drawers, not sure if I’ll go that route possibly make the drawers dovetail. Lot of ways I can go.

I got delayed, neighbor had 3 broken drawers to repair and another neighbor wants their deck replaced.

    I’m the neighborhood handyman.

  4. Im ditching this old metal deck that I got free back in 1999

It was great for what I needed at the time, but I want deeper drawers and little custom aspect to what I need.

I’ve been tempted by the mobile benches from husky and Milwaukee but, dang they are expensive and fall short of what I need.

2x4 construction, I will dado my partitions, use full X guides on the drawers. Possibly glue up a top maybe not see how the budget is.

  5. Ok so more confusion

I looked at the display and then looked at the actual saw in the box and they are two different models.

The one with the hex nut shows a hard case and the boxed one has a tool less adjustable shoe and a soft case. No I didn’t buy it, I have to pay off my Home Depot card first.

  6. I saw it, picked it up etc.

How much more power and lasting ability does this have over my brushed makita with a single 5.0 pack?

I have some issues with this 36v model.

First to adjust the shoe theres a hex screw in front, not tooless and second those two packs on the bottom made it heavy.

I dont have a corded recip saw but,  I think I can get by with my brushed model for demo, steel cutting, and other projects.

Bought the new makita 36v plunge saw, with the promo I got the 55" track and two more 5.0 battery packs free!! Man this saw is freaking sweet!!!

Now Im thinking I want the rear handle saw they have too.  I have a skil mag 77 which is my work horse but wouldnt hurt to have a cordless brushless saw for the farm, would it?

Also bought a hitachi 3 1/2 framing gun.

I did want to point out the scale on this plunge saw is metric. But, all the plywood I get free from where I work is metric in thickness so for me its not a big deal.

Im a welder also, my question is:Is this doable?

Any input, help, part lists etc is appreciated.

  10. Picked up a ridgid 4512 table saw. Spent 5 hours setting it up and dialing it in. I am really impressed with it! Ive already ripped 10 ft of cherry and it didnt miss a beat. It is solid.

I need to call woodcraft tomorrow and see if they still have the lee valley zcp and some 4" dust collector hose.
