  1. I have a ryobi 18v impact and the ryobi 18v drill and 18v hammer drill. They work great and have survived falls 40ft up in the crane so no complaints.  All the one plus tools i have are great.  I don't use any other battery tools.  Everything i do is mostly in shop so corded tools line my tool boxes.

  2. I received a flask with my nickname in one wedding and a knife with the wedding date and my name engraved in it. I'm getting married in November so i still have plenty of time to figure out what I'd do but good thread.

  3. I bought a 6" caliper from hf yesterday. Surprised with the quality.  The 150 dollar one that was certified is no more accurate then it. Quite similar actually. We'll see how it holds up though. Also bought a dead blow hammer 4lb from hf. Supposedly its supposed to be a good one so once again, we'll see lol.

For bar clamps I would look on CL or Ebay (for local pick up). Sometimes you can find a good deal.

I bought a large lot on eBay, local pick up only for 300.00 a few years ago. Some of them still had the tags on them.

I use Quick clamps the most, Dewalt and Irwin are nice. Those I would probably buy only new.

I recently picked up a pair of Bessey Kliklamps and do not like them,  I would not buy them again.

My favorite quick clamps are from Stanley but I think they stopped making them. You can still find them on eBay, but they are crazy expensive.  They are able to produce the most holding power.   http://toolmonger.com/2007/05/17/hands-on-stanley-fat-max-xtreme-auto-trigger-clamp/

What's up with stanley stopping production on there good tools? I don't have tons of stanley but the ones i have are great. As for clamps.  Irwin quick clamps are great and replacement pads can be purchased cheaply so it's not a bid deal when you melt the pad sometimes(not that i ever have!). Milwaukee makes some good locking c clamps as well as vise grip. I have irwin and bessey? (not sure, whatever brand hd has) in 24" and 36" and don't have complainers yet.  Although i don't do much wood work.

  5. Sand the primer with 300 grit, then wipe down with denatured alcohol followed by a tack cloth. You'll have a nice finish.  Also grab a paint filter and strain your paint and acetone thru it. This will also help you get a clean finish.

  6. Glad i joined this forum wish i would of found it sooner.  The atmosphere seems good here.  Much like a local gun forum I'm on.  Glad i missed the drama though haha.  Thanks for all you guys do. Hopefully i can put back what i take like some of you have.  Cheers to a new year!

  7. Here you can see them skinned and ready for paint. I'll also show the letters being made. The step that wasn't pictured which i had mentioned will get clarified here.  It's done a lil different but basically the same. Also included a work order pic so you can see what I'm doing.  Enjoy.

  8. Irwin quick strippers.  I bought a pair and so did a few other guys.  With constant use they have all broken. Guess they weren't supposed to do that much stripping. Back to my Klein strippers

  9. Finally took the dewalt chop saw i bought out of the box.  Dws780 i believe.  Pretty neat system.  Have always liked the dewalt chop saws so decided a nice sliding saw would be nice addition. And why not the one with largest cut stretch. Went thru some aluminum extrusions no problem with included 60t blade. The light shadow feature is pretty cool as well!
