  1. So, I called metabo. They said all of their new drills have a slip clutch for when the drill binds. To save the geartrain and the batteries. He was telling me that lithium batteries become volatile when a sudden high amp draw happens. Will
  2. I'm getting into the makita line for a few things. I've picked up a couple of bare tools on clearance. I plan to have a Makita impact, grinder, trim router, etc. I am a professional but don't use my battery tools all day long. For example, my 10yo dewalt impact will go a couple days on the small non lithium batteries. If I can get that performance, I'll be thrilled. Thanks in advance Will
  3. I got my 20v nailer for free from a Home Depot I don't normally use. They effed an order and cost me money. They were glad to give me the nailer. Ive had it about three years. Stays in the truck for quick stuff. It works good enough, it'll sink a 16 in spruce, but that's about it. Works excellent for sheeting. Thats about all all I can say for it. It was free and does an ok job. If I'd paid for it I'd probably be a touch upset. I gladly sold my paslode when I got it tho. That pos never worked for me when I really needed it to. Will
  4. I own damn near everything rigid makes. I inherited my dads stuff when he retired. A special buy on a 24v kit years ago got him started. They were super tough and the warranty was good. Fast forward 10 years or so, the 24v stuff is no longer available, and the 18v stuff (what I call trinkets, fans, blowers, lights, etc) is good, but the stuff you use everyday (drills and impact) flat out suck anymore. Thus I'm keeping all the "trinkets" selling the drills, and rebuilding the 24v batteries.
  5. Mafell has a quick drill with anti bindup. But does metabo? So far I find no as the answer. Its time to buy buy a new cordless drill and I'd like to try out the metabo quick line. However if they don't have anti bindup I'll be going with the dewalt 997 as it has it. Im man enough to keep most drills from kicking, but as an electrician by trade, I can see how that anti bind would help when drilling holes in existing walls with a long shaft bit. Thanks for your time. Will
