MikeSs
Hi guys! Last year I received as a gift a Hitachi DS18DJL drill. I've used it a couple of times as a hobby and I really love everything about it. Recently I got it out of the case in the house to test fit some new bits I bought and I heard a weird sound coming from it when the HIGH gear is engaged. In the LOW gear it sounds just fine, but as soon as I change to HIGH gear it starts to make that sound. Can you guys help me figure out what that is? Is it normal? The sound kind of changes if I point it downnwards and if turned upwards doesn't sound at all. I tried to upload the video on youtube but it cut off the sound so I uploaded it on google drive. Thanks! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rI6Ro2zpXM0eHW0qi94hJ0BJnYy0qYgF/view
Jronman
Might be grinding gears? Looks to me like in high gear you had to hold the switch to keep it fully in second gear or else gravity would drop the switch slightly.
MikeSs
It fully stays in second gear, but it just sounds like that. It doesn't sound very loud. I don't know if I should bring it for repair.
