Makita AF601 nail gun: Sometimes fires a second shot of air

I just bought a brand new AF601 nail gun yesterday from my local Home Depot. I have not owned a nail gun before so I don't have previous experience with nail guns in general. It works fine but is doing something I don't understand and is not mentioned in the manual. In Single Sequence mode, sometimes I get a only single pulse of air as the nail fires but sometimes I get second pulse of air when I lift off the wood. I am not getting a second nail, just a second pulse of air. What concerns me is that sometimes this happens and sometimes not so the functioning seems inconsistent. I tend to usually get a single pulse of air if I lift the gun quickly after shooting a nail.  I usually get a second pulse of air if I wait a second or two before lifting the gun off the wood. In Contact mode, I believe I always get a second pulse of air when I lift off the wood. Please see the video. My sense is that the gun should always work the same way.
