DW 745 "chatter" when lowering blade

New, out of the box DW 745 everything spot on, square, ready to go. After checking it out I lowered the blade; first time OK, the second time it began to "chatter" - something binding, sticking or not working as it should be. It appears to me that the guide post on the rear of the trunion which passes through a sleeve is either misaligned or needs lubrication. I wiped on some fine machine oil and it helped a little but still does not lower smoothly.

Raising the blade - no problem, only when lowering. I tilted the saw on its side and ran the blade up and down - no chatter. Only when the saw is in normal operating position that this happens. I can't see anything wrong and don't see any way to adjust anything. Any ideas?
